hmmm, are you mad at me or something?
anyways, if i made you mad, sorry
if you dont want me on the team, that is not my choice, only you can add or take me off. i did appreciate my time while i was on the team, thank you for never including me in anything(the staff page of other site), or never adding me to credits for things i have done(darkness, thats you) and i hope that we can maintain a friendly relationship after this =)

What request?

Dude, you stole all darknesses ideas. He was brain storming with you and you just took all his ideas.

lol
sure i did, can you show me what game?
magic battle was created BEFORE i even met darkness if magic battle is the game that you are thinking off.....

and during the last couple of days of coding that game, me and darkness began to become friends, and no such ideas were ever stated to me in any way by darkness until magic battle was stolen from my computer, and a break from byond began, while darkness continued on with ideas, i just added to his brainstorming, rumble, ramble, blah blah blah

i have stole no ideas, besides, ideas are just ideas

if you show or prove to me a place on the internet, or actually, anywhere, that i stole darkness' ideas, then please post them in your reply, and i will then agree with you and retaliate

Ha! Such a deal. In the future, when you promise to agree with someone, leave off the "...and retaliate" afterwards. :)

Anyway, I don't have any idea what all this controversy is about, but I can at least say that Magic Battle looked quite original, and promising, to me (and I never even made it past the newbie island). As for stealing ideas, I agree with Deadron's point: ideas are great, but in the end, it's the execution that matters. For example, Black and White had great ideas but bogged down in the execution (though there are millions of gamers who will dispute this, and at worst, my opinion will make Peter Molyneux cry all the way to the bank, until he checks his account balance and laughs).

If anyone here has any lingering doubts on the subject: if I play your game and I see a good idea in it, I will not hesitate to steal it. I'll avoid breaking copyright laws and I may even give you credit for the inspiration, but I won't hesitate to adapt a clever technique or gimmick to my own purposes. On the other hand, I'll try not to give you a ration of crap if you do something in one of your games that could conceivably have been inspired by one of mine. I think that's pretty fair, personally.

these two paragraphs are simply beautiful
thanks gughunter

and further i want to include, making a game is much more rewarding when creating your own concepts and ideas other than having it all created for you, then you trying to figure out how to make a battle system for DBZ's stats.

if you make up the ideas, you will have less questions on how to create it in game form.

Thats why Im not complaining. I never said it was ilegal for him to steal ideas. I simply just kicked him off the team for it. I dont think that bothers you, does it Gug? You said execution is the key, I never said darkness didn't add those ideas into his game first. Thats all I gots to say except for im getting tired of everybody saying its alright to steal ideas and then bashin me for make a DBZ game, cuz i "stole funimations intelectual property".
In response to Ebonshadow
Funamation is not itellectual (damn I can't spell today)but the only way there affliated with DBZ is distrubution of the english shows believe me there morons I have had a chat with the CEO for premission to do my website

ebonshadow
how can you kick me off a team for stealing ideas when i stole no ideas?

please, listen to me, and reply
i have no games, whatsoever that include any of darkness's ideas, i did not steal them

and to tell you the truth, the only thing i remember from one of his ideas was something about guilds and guild stones or something

so i ask you to just agree that i did not steal ideas, i dont want back in the team, i just want you to know that its fact i stole no ideas

there is no proof, and i have no content/data or anything of these ideas

Not at all. It's perfectly within your rights to determine whom you associate with, and to what degree (although I'm not a lawyer, so you'd better check up on civil rights and hate crimes laws to be sure...). I didn't mean for my post to be a broadside against you, not in the least--I was just throwing in my own thoughts on the general subject of "stealing ideas."

I've tried not to get too involved in the intellectual property debates so far because one of my most elaborate games is a homage to a specific motion picture (though I have included certain elements which make it a parody, and therefore protected--knock on wood). Personally I don't even have any problem with you using actual names from an existing work of "intellectual property"--just so long as you realize that, if the author wanted to be a real jerk about it, you could be in for a butt-kickin'. :)

[Edit: Under the law, it's possible that an author might not even have to be a "real jerk"--it's possible that the author might face a "use it or lose it" restriction on the property, though I think this may apply more to trademark than to copyright. Like I said, I am not a lawyer... they use this term so frequently on Slashdot that they just write IANAL.]

Not getting into this debate, but... ...isn't the point of brainstorming to mutually cook up ideas that you'll both use?

If you brainstorm something with someone, that means that you'll both use it. The boundaries might be fuzzed of course (since I'm not aware of how many ideas FIREking presented).
