ABBA and Blondie, for starters. I'm usually amenable to just about anything except hip-hop, "loud angry music" in general, and some virulent strains of "soft rock". (In my estimation, ABBA is not "soft rock", but rather, "commercial pop". To say otherwise is heresy.)

Heres some of my favorite bands:

Slipknot - Best by far
Mudvayne
Reveille
Grand Theft Audio - Awesome electronica rock band
Little T and one Track Mike - Funny ass rapper
Marilyn Manson
Primer 55
Stereomud
Drowning Pool

And for the worst singer of all time get some songs by "Wesley Willis." I think thats his name, get some of his songs and you will surely crack up cause hes so horrible.

I like.........Guitar music. Being a musician myself, I love to hear the way people can make the guitar sing and cry and scream out things that can't be said. My all time favorite Guitarist has to be Kurt Cobain. He was the master of Saying things with his guitar that I could never say.

Or Steve Vai. I not really a fan, but he can make his guitar say some short words. He played for David Lee Roth, and made his guitar say "dave" and a couple other things. I dont remember the song name though.

Um... you two do know that that's not what Deadlocke is talking about, right?

Not really, if you think about it in a certain way. Would you say that Tori Amos and Sarah are an odd combination? Most people I know find their musical styles to be compatible... and then you ask, are Tori and Tool compatible? The answer from those two respective horses' mouths seems to be "Yes," as Tori had the right reverend Maynard accompany her on her song "Muhammed, My Friend" as part of a benefit concert in New York in the mid-90s.

Actually, I don't see that many similarities between Tori and Sarah except that they're both female lyricists... I was just looking for an excuse to talk about Tori.

heheehe :] While that is impressive, what I was saying was how the guitarist could convey emotions through the guitar, without having to utter one single word.

I have a feeling Spuzzum was being facetious, but his comment muddied the waters for those who came after.
