I was just wondering about this, since I remember Dan and Tom talking about how later on the whole interface will be customizable (like the verb panels, etc)
with all the coming changes in the future, will people have to rebuy the blue book?
just an interesting question :P
personally, i don't think it gives enough information now, it could use about 10 more chapters. (but then it would be about 20 more dollars)

There was a dicussion on this subject a while back and it will change slowly 3.0 will be after this next release I think and 3.0 is supposed to be a large change from this version but won't change very fast so Dantom will probably sell off the current Blue Book then begin making a new version of it and selling it..

This is only what I think about the subject not exactly what is going to happen
The fundamentals of the language will still be the same no matter how much glitz they put in. The Blue Book will always be a good beginner's guide to DM and programming in general.

When they get to the next huge phase, Dantom would probably print out an update. But the theory goes that since the basic aspects of the language aren't likely to change hardly at all, once you get a good grasp of the language it'll be pretty simple to learn new functions.
