(I put * instead of the actual word as I know Dantom does not like cursing on the boards and I also know that we are not supposed to curse on the boards aswell)
This is what I encountered from a "DBZ'er" just by asking if I could have an uploaded character onto the hosts server and on my behalf I would like to say it is un-neccessary for these people to act this way to another person.

It happened to me once but it is only those BYOND keys that are not really known. These people are idiots and should not stand for or represent the DBZ community in any way. If you think about it these people go round asking for trouble.

Thats a point, I am going to let the host of my game have afew little nifty concepts :-D Also most likely no DBZ game will have those unless its the one that SuperSaiyanGokuX is doing his is kind of neat, I would class it as something to be proud of seing as if you take alook at all these other DBZ games. So are very well coded, but his is different, and the way he has done it is pretty cool. -~=Lee=~- |
This may be the DBZ crowd, but it's not only seen in DBZ games. It's also apparently common in games like Morte and Tanks, anything where one player can be stronger than another.
Good reason to host your game privately, and don't inform the byond community about it! Besides, if people from other more "mature" places find out about byond as a simplified way to make what they want, this community will end up with a better crowd for it. The only thing left to do then is supress the evil DBZ crowd as much as possible. |

Or do what I do, host it publicly with a list of people who can enter, just to make people want to join but can't, kinda like teasing them!

It doesn't happen in Tanks games I host. I ban belligerent or foul mouthed players after a warning or two. That sort of behaviour will happen anywhere that it goes unchecked, even in plain vanilla chatrooms. (I was playing a nice game of Una a while ago and had the same sort of thing happen.) It's up to the host/admin/GM/moderator to keep it from turning into a elementary school playground. |

Yup, just look at some of the chat rooms I make, I was forced to make auto-boot, mute, and boot things because of all these (mainly DBZ) people who can't behave.

I ,personally, think all of new DBZ games 'n such brought a whole new wave of rude people. Before when DBEO and DBZ:NN were like the only two DBZ games out, things were alright, not half the people you meet were rude. I admit I've been slightly rude in my past. But definately, DBZ games have the most disrespectful people. Foomer also referred to Morte to be one of the games in which these people dwell, but that's not entirely true since only when the Morte-newbies arrived is when everything changed. Now Foomer's statement is true though.

I think most DBZ games are going to tend toward this level of discourse. There may be exceptions where the hosts quickly ban those players who turn out to be nasty little wastes of carbon... but you'll probably have to look a long time to find a DBZ game like that.
