I think that if it were more realistic(ie:

You could assign sims certain bathrooms and beds to sleep in

You could actualy walk to another house

Your Sims' kids would actualy grow up(seriously!)

You could play online

You could homschool your sims

You could make a basement

You could make like 4 level houses(5 including basment)

Less Stupider AI
