At the final count, there were
I've received late (48-hour) entries from Bob the Hobo
IainPeregrine and I still have to arrange judging, but I'll make another announcement when we've figured out which entries are "best of show". Stay tuned!
Time's up! I hereby declare the First BYOND Game-in-a-Day Challenge closed. Congratulations to all of the participants!

That's fine; you participated, even if you didn't enter, and that's all I ask. :-)
|
Yeah, I really wanted to compete, but something came up and there was no way for me to get any coding done. Oh well, next time eh? ;)
|
I would have been in but my bank account is messed up and still is i hope to join in the next one.
|
I'm going to take a guess and say that when your bank account is messed up then you have more important things to do than join a contest. ;)
|
That connection sprang to mind, but I wrote it off on the assumption that fixing a problem with your bank account wouldn't take very much time (though, judging by the statement "and still is", apparently, it is taking a long time to fix the problem)

I should probably throw my GIAD entry on the hub. Well, I say GIAD, it was more like game-in-four-and-a-bit-hours, thanks to work. Contest ran 5pm Saturday to 5pm Sunday in my time, I was working 'till 6:00 on saturday and from 10:00 'till 5:30 on Sunday. Lovely. :P
But anyway: Pixel movement in a day FTW! |
If you're going to disqualify me from the 24-hour limit because of a tiny bug fix sent in after the fact, please post my first submission instead (sent within 24 hours). The fact is, the game was written in 24 hours, not 48, so I'll go with the slightly buggy entry; thanks.
|
Hold the next one of these on a wednesday and I'm in. :P
Good luck with the judging. |
I haven't had a chance to see anyone's submissions (other than Evi of Au's, and that was just for a minute), but I can't wait to see what was submitted (and all the nasty code)!
|
Glad to hear the turnout was good. Feel free to pass me as a judge, since there won't be any concerns of me misjudging my own entry. ^_^
(including entries which will be disqualified, of which there is at least one) Ahaha! I was a key point in a blog post by Crispy. :D ++Hiead.1337ness I haven't had a chance to see anyone's submissions (other than Evi of Au's, and that was just for a minute), but I can't wait to see what was submitted (and all the nasty code)! Should check out mine. ;) |

Sorry Mike, I was referring to Hiead there. :-)

Your email seemed to imply that you'd prefer to have the bug fix, but I still have both versions so I'll use the original 24-hour one. |
I'm sorry that I was too anal to compete myself. I got up at three in the morning for it and stayed a while if that's any consolation. ;)
