Well, the topic of 'Computer names' intrugued me. lol.

So I though i might as well go and raise the topic of key names, as I'm sure there are some funny stories behind most of them...

Well, as you all know, I'm HonzoHattori.

HonzoHattori's Story:

One day, i was playing on my Neo-Geo pocket color, with a game called 'Samurai Shodown2', (This was the day I heard about BYOND by the way), and i noticed real cool character called Hanzo Hattori in the manual.
Later That Night...
My pal texted me, asking if I had dowloaded BYOND yet, and I texted back "Nope but I got a cool name though".

After about 5 mins of suspense, I thought I might as well tell him what it was...

I didn't write HanzoHattori... my damn spelling let me down, so here I am. I believe it was fate.

hee hee

So there it is, the tale of Honzo.

Come and tell yours!

Honzo

Mine was inspired by my favorite character from Half-Life... I swear to God, I meant to type in "Head-crabbed Scientist Writhing in Comfortable Chair."
Mine is inspired by the King of Monster Godzilla noth the crappy American one but the one i loved since the age of 3 years old.

Ah, few monsters can compare to the walking embodiment of nuclear extinction, the chilling Atomic Age cautionary tale that was the old gorilla-fish-whale himself. I have a weak spot for Rodan, though, who aside from terrorizing Tokyo, was also noted for his sensitive water colors and evocative sculptures, especially "The Thinker."

Mine was inspired by my brain lol.

I was thinking of my girlfriend and all of a sudden I came out with this sentence that I was saying to myself about my girlfriend and "Mellifluous" happened to slip right into the sentence and it was pretty nice. So I started laughing to myself as I am a guy that can have a great laugh at times but also I am pretty easy to amuse :-D

Then I thought to myself...What does this word actually mean...So, I looked it up in the dictionary and thought for awhile and then I said to myself...I will use that for my new Key in BYOND.

There's the tale of my Key :-D

I've been on a lot of MUDs, and picked up a lot of names. Im guessing Alathon was someone I saw on one of them, and the name popped into my head at the time.

ps: My name is inspired by several things: My favorite poem (The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe), i was once a fan of Raven the wrestler (yes I still watch wrestling), and I think Raven is just a neat name...

You forgot to mention that Raven is a powerful totem and keeper of secrets. ;)

Actually what I forgot to mention is that... The lil punk that has the keyname Lord Raven sucks. I wanted that key name sooo bad. It portrays my character in the House of Morte.

Lord of Water came about while playing "Oregon Trail" 1st edition... yes, the old one in almost all ASCII and only with the crudest graphics. I played two games through in a row without losing -anything- to the water, which was absolutely unheard of... Lord of Water was the name spawned of that event, and it has stuck with me through the internet. Everywhere I go, that is the alias I hide under.
