Sorry about this, but I feel like people must know that I just took an IQ test. And it just boosted up my confidence in learning. The result was 152. Test consisted of 32 questions, 12 minute time limit... Aye...

Heh, So you took the IQ test on www.IQtest.com . There not that accurtate I got a 151 then I took it like 2days later and got 132. Sorry to burst your bubble. lol
<LIE>Sorry to burst your bubble</LIE>,but "IQ tests" (especially 32 question ones you find online) measure nothing except how good you are at taking a particular test.

You happened to know the solution to a lot of questions that the makers of the test felt would be important to know. You might have solved some of them through critical reasoning, process of elimination, deduction, etc. (which would be intelligence), and you might have happened to already know the answer without thinking (which would be knowledge). You might even have guessed on some of them (which would be luck.)

In the end, 152 is only an accurate representation of the proportion of the questions you answered correctly. The test has no way of measuring how you arrived at those answers.

Intelligence is a very nebulous quality... and it is very much a quality rather than a quantity. Words like "stupid" and "smart" are such completely relative terms as to have virtually no real meaning at all (which is exactly why I feel comfortable bandying the former around so much. When I call someone stupid, I'm not making an attempt to measure their intelligence... I don't believe such measurements can be made. I'm rating the "intelligence" of their current actions/situation. When you try to remove the cookie sheet from the hot oven with your bare hands, you're stupid... when you remember to use a towel or oven mit or forbidden yoga biofeedback techniques, you're smart.)
