File converters?

Are there any programs/accessories that convert files to other files? I have some neato pics that I made. But they are .PCX . How could I make them .jpg,.gif, etc. Becuase people can't open the files that I make. :(

Edit: I am NOT willing to pay anything.

a good one is XnView it can convert almost any picture and its free. I dont know the site just search a search engin
