my point was theres a cause you dont get insomnia for no reason i have a terrible insomnia because i have alot of stres in my life i sleep probably 2 days of the week for a full night

Well, that's a much better way of putting it. And I agree with your general thrust here... that staying up days on end for no reason, or to prove you can, is more dangerous than it's worth... you might do well to avoid being so contentious in syaing it though.

I also suffer from insomnia... I always have. I don't think it's stress-related, I just never learned the trick of "going to sleep" that everyone else seems to be able to do. Lay down, close your eyes, open them up, and it's morning. I don't know how this is possible. For me, it's lay down, close eyes, lay there, lay there, lay there, lay there, exhaustion overcomes me, wake up a few hours later.

thats pretty stupid you can be more susceptible to get cancer from sleep depravation and also by lack of exercise

Believe me, I'll never do it again. I didn't really want to either I tried to sleep a few times during the 6 days with no luck. I've been getting alot of sleep since then (in fact this is the latest I've stayed up in a week). And I exercise daily =P

One time...just for a personal test (of what? endurance? or stupidity? lol) I stayed awake for just over 48 hours... After a certain point...you sort of gain a "second wind" and you stop feeling tired... But once that wears off you really crash... I was asleep for the next 15 hours or so...lol I never had any halucinations, though...

I stayed up for over 72 hours when I got my copy of Hack (an old rogue style game.) The "second wind" comes in cycles, but it's harder to reach the next cycle each time through.

All of this I learned by way of a very helpful documentary, Stephen King's Insomnia. Which, incidentally, put me right to sleep. Ye gods. The only good thing to come out of the whole Dark Tower nonsense was Hearts in Atlantis.

I usually enjoy the Dark Tower stuff, but I found Insomnia to be kind of... inaccessible, if that's the right word. I've enjoyed it more on subsequent readings, but it's still kind of odd.

In the category of hard-to-get-into King books, Rose Madder tops my list. I still don't get what's going on with that whole world-in-a-picture thing, and the mother fox, and all that. (Though Norman is quite an interesting villain.)

Ok first off, Oregon does not suck Greendice =P 2nd "The Critic" is a very funny show :) I have noticed the 'high' during the night, i havn't really stayed up late late recently, I usually go to bed around 1-2 AM maybe later, if I am busy with something though. Oh and another question is it just me or is it people on the computer who stay up longer then usuall people?? lol.

That reminds me. Someone at my school today got caught selling hash to some people that were around 12. He was talking to the police for about 8 hours(When I arrived at school in the morning), and was still talking when I left school.

He's over 15, which means that it goes on his record permanently and he will go to a real jail as opposed to a juvenile prison.

I'm exactly that way. Strangely I've got to be doing something before I can slowly drift out, like watching late-night TV. I'll be watching a show and then two seconds later (or so it seems) I'll have to get up and go to school. Strange isn't it?
