Does anyone know a program I can use to make my own sound FX? I'm tired of using others, I want a totally original game. I would also be grateful if someone could lead me to a music program that I can create midi's with.

Search for Anvil Studio, its very good. Also, thats not SFX....its midi composing software :P

Does anybody know any SFX software?

Get a microphone and a bunch of trinkets from around the house. If I remember correctly, the rocket launcher sound from Quake 1 was a straw in a toilet. Or maybe it was the grenade launcher. Anyway, it's fun to do, but time consuming.
