Oh the game that will never be released? SPAR was shut down because EBONSHADOW wanted to work on his...deaf smiley game and i guess hes trying to not be a dbzer and get in better company with people like lexy and all the other dbz haters...

Now thats just stupid, WOW giving up a great game will get you in with a new group of people while you let down a few hundred. After looking at Sariat's continual mentioning of disliking DBZ in his posts, i conclude he loves it. He cant seem to stop mentioning it. ;-)

A few hundred of annoying dbzers or a new group of semi-annoying actually worth-while people to talk to...hmmmmm. Thats a toughy :)

Yes, I love dbz.

It's my opinion that Ebonshadow has nothing against DBZ whatsoever; in fact, DBZ-SPAR still has some chance of being put back onto the drawing board. A good DBZ game on BYOND might give current DBZ game makers who really care about creating a quality product something more to work toward and compete with, and it will drown out the majority of the low-quality DBZ games. With this cycle in motion DBZ would soon become less hated by BYONDers, so I say break out the old code files and get cracking! After TextMUD 2.5 is out and if DBZ-SPAR is still in the "Do Later" bin, I might ask Ebon if I start a reinterfacing and redesign of it to help its progress along.

In my case, I actually liked DBZ-Spar, mainly because it had a lot and a little to do with the show at the same time -- that is, it had an atmosphere all of its own. Rather than just being thrown into a character's role and icon, you came up with your own identity, your own aura, your own views on the universe, everything.

What I didn't like were its players. I was newbie-killed (repeatedly) the second time I logged into it ("lol i killed him in one hit!"), after it became more of an RPG rather than a duelling game. The fact that other higher-level characters came to my rescue and started pounding the coward didn't really get rid of the sour taste in my mouth.

Simply put, the player base wasn't what I was looking for. A game like DBZ-Spar would have been fine if it had a community of roleplayers or at least legitimate fans (rather than 12 year olds who only watch the show because it's "cool" to). All I found were achievers and griefers, and I don't like competing with people, especially people like those.
