What do you want in a game? Like lets say Bob wants to be able to go down a water slide in a byond game, thats only an example. But what would you want to be put into a game to make it much more interesting?

But what would you want to be put into a game to make it much more interesting? What would I really like to see in a BYOND game? Randomly generated monsters. Haven had something like it, but I still had to draw the icons myself -- I just ran the generator, it spat out a description and the stats, and I made an icon that fit it. What would be really cool is if the generator drew the icons, too, with icon arithmetic and the like. =) |

Wouldn't be to hard, just gotta make a lot of states like a tall state, a fat state, a short state, etc.... It could look for key words that a person would type. Lets say there is an imagination machine that lets you fight any monster you can think up, but you have to say certain characteristics. So little Tommy says ''I wan to fight a short, skinny, and green lizard!'' Then it will look for keywords, like lizard, it would bring up a lizard icon, set its icon state to short and skinny, then overlay with a short and skinny green color. The problem would be is the time it would take to make all the icons and stuff.

Why would you care for the control commands of a game, if your not even gonna administrate on it? What is a possible way to blend normal life with heroic events? These are just a few questions bothering me.

What do you want in a game? A beautiful graphical 3d world with sights to see and feels like I am really there. Also a non linear plot, so I can do whatever I would like to do. Be able to do anything from building a house to my likings, becoming a merchant/knight/mage-theif-warrior like my morrowind character, whatever. Have the world continously grow, trees are grown and cut down for houses, npc's have their own schedule or lives, they get married and invite their friends to the wedding (even you), every step can change the world (wolves trace your scent and such, could step on a young tree just growing thus killing it). a game kind of like Morrowind, but it can also have it as your life along with changing lands (random RARE volcanic eruption + ingame time = new island with people flocking to it opr staying back!). along with being able to invent stuff. Like lets say Bob wants to be able to go down a water slide in a byond game, thats only an example. But what would you want to be put into a game to make it much more interesting? er.... this was about byond games? er..... then...... well..... look behind you, it's a dwarf about to strike his axe into your head! |

What is a possible way to blend normal life with heroic events? Well, you don't have to have a normal life, but you could have some characters that are. sometimes a normal person may also end up between the balance of good and evil (lord of the rings trilogy with Frodo). And heroic things don't have to be about saving the world, slaying the mighty dragon, or stopping a mad wizard from bringing utter chaos. It could be protecting your family from theives, thus blending in normal life. just thought I'd comment on that one thing. |
