Well, I knew it wouldn't start up, but I bought a england Playstation game. Anyways, I remember hearing how you can get japanese games working on a american ps, and am wondering how to get it to work. any suggestions are welcome that are about the post.
mod chip?
How good are you with a soldering iron? To play japanese (or copied) games, you need to get a special chip and install it in your playstation.

I'm really trying to stay away from mod chips though.

Do a Google search on "playstation swap trick". Early PlayStation models could be tricked into playing imports. I found out about this by accident when I noticed that my sister's machine handled lighting effects slightly differently than my own did... I posted a question on Usenet, and the answer explained that mine was an older model and could probably also use the "swap trick", which I never took advantage of since I don't speak Japanese.

I see you've conquered two syllables in one thought. Now, see if you can increase them so you are on par with the local gorillas at your zoo.
