I decided today that I am going to start playing bass guitar, which brought me to wonder:
Who here plays an instrument, and what do you play?

Who here plays an instrument, and what do you play?

I play the Tenor Sax and am learning to play the guitar. I'm buying a drumset soon, so I'm learning to do those, too.

I'm going to start a band next year after practicing the drums and guitar throughout the summer, hopefully playing ska or punk. I'm not sure whether I'm going to play the guitar or drums. I'll probably play the guitar because another friend of mine already plays the drums, and having two drummers is kind of absurd ;)

I have been playing the guitar for 4 years. I sing too. I also play the keyboard (learning) and I used to play the trumpet, and I can play the bass guitar as well. This summer, I am getting a PA system and drumset, I will be learning to play the drums as soon as I get them.

i've been playing piano for 7 years, currently focusing on guitar which i've played for 2 years, my friends say i'm pretty good at bass, i sing, and i can play cello a little bit.

Who here plays an instrument, and what do you play?

I was in choir in junior high and the first two years of high school; I was a decent singer, and probably could be again if I practiced.

Nowadays most of my singing is rock songs converted to the vocal stylings of Roger Whittaker. It's not a very good impression, but it helps keep me awake and chuckling on the drive to work.

I play guitar, bass, and sing. I also point and click in programs. I write my own music/lyrics. My work is pretty good... and since I have yet to actually record any of it, nobody can disprove that statement. ;)

PS: Has anyone tried Audacity? I'm curious about using VST stuff outside of my Cubwhatever thingy.

Man, I envy you. Your studio looks so sweet. My "studio" consists of an amp and electric guitar, a keyboard in the other room and a homemade drumset made out of tin cans and cardboard boxes ;)

I can play, but not as well:

Damn...I don't know how you guys can sing... I can't sing in a very high tone, or else my voice cracks...I CAN'T EVEN YELL DAMNIT!

Everytime the Dallas Cowboys score a touchdown I would always yell: "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

Now, its like this

I've been playing the guitar off and on for the last twenty years. Dabbled a bit with the bass guitar too - Geddy Lee from RUSH is a personal idol for bassists.

Did a bit of drum- and keyboard-work in the late 80's when some friends and I toyed with the idea of forming a band.

Would love to try sax someday, but I don't think I have the lungs for it anymore...

Nowadays I do computer-generated music - trance, techo, etc., but also have been playing with comp-generated jazz and blues...
