how and why do people make games that are over 4 megs? I mean most of the time there just wanabe games. I have never made a game over .5 megs. And one of my games had over 30 midis on them(tbg). People need to think that some people are on 56k's and 4 megs is just to big to D/L just to check out a game. I have seen many games of this size and very few were even worth click the join button.

well, people realy need to think, if you had the choose of playing a game you know love and have fun in, and only have to wait 10 sec to get in with a new comp. Or a game that you have never played and have to wait 10-30 min just to play, which one would you choose?

I'vem made a game (well, kind of) over 50 megabytes. Really. I'll upload it to the hub for proof if you want. |

I see where you're coming from. I have a 56k and it takes me forever to get into a lot of games these days. One other problem is that people who are downloading cause lag!
To all the people out there developing your games: Reduce your resource size AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! Please? :D |

Using bmps is probably a big one. A lot of the DBZ games I've *caugh* secretly logged into usually have huge title screens. Those are probably bmps, and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of other things are too. Especially if these people are kids who don't know anything past Paint and copying images off the web.

Wait wait wait, I use Paint. It doesn't ONLY save in bmp format...although there are some formats I wish it saved in...

But only .png and .bmp are supported by BYOND.

Well yeah...you have a point...

Another thing is that some people add large images in their games, without doing their best to keep the size down. An example of that would be...using a bmp for a title screen.
