Yes, I do...but I want to be more active with God and such.......
You want to know why? I've always believed in God becuase I guess my parents told me. But a few months ago, when I had my operation and almost died, I felt another heartbeat inside of me, and I could feel an outline of a person (like if it was on the operating table with me). I thought I was an angel, and I still do. I don't care if you guys don't believe me or not.
Hey Lummox.....Remember......Engrish......?

well in my opinion i will have to say no because the only proof is the bible and science seems to have more of an upper hand with the prrof that man most ikely evolved from primeapes. Also i kinda like Raekwons theaory its seems alot cooler then us bowing down to some king.Wasn't the ages of peasents/kings/queens along time ago?

Here Is my belief.
I began as an evolutionist, but between what I studied in school and read in bibles *Yes I like to compare and contrast religions that are based on a GOD* and through my studies of Chi I have come to this conclusion. God isnt a person nor an entity, I believe it is an energy, An energy that is everywhere and cycles between every organism. This energy can hold many forms and takes alott of mental training to see *I still have yet to achieve this through my studies*. I also believe this entity is what makes up the soul of a living body, when this soul dies it is returned to the main source of life *GOD* and is reused when a new organism is birthed, and this cycles on endlessly. Other religions and studies also refer to this energy as Mana, or the Life Cycle which serves on the same base. EXACTLY the same base *Other religions have some similarities, but very few*. I also dont believe in heaven or hell, but a little part of reincarnation Except with a mixture of souls which make up this main energy GOD. This is the belief I have developed and it seems to basically work with any and all other religions for the most part. --Ken-- |

We, with our free will, have the power to destroy or create... if we all collectively choose to create, we can be justifiably proud. Now imagine that God made us incapable of harming each other, or made it so that we could attempt to harm each other but would be prevented... we'd have the same age of peace and prosperity, but where would be the sense of accomplishment? Where would the free will be? What would the point of life be? If the universe was nothing more than a collection of matter and energy that always moved in accordance with pre-determined laws, a being of infinite wisdom and knowledge who created all the matter and energy would know the whole course of the universe from start to finish. Looking at any one instant of time would be the same as looking at any other, because it would contain all the information needed to extrapolate all other instants. Now, if this being also had infinite power, and used this power to create beings who are capable of doing as they please, who somehow are capable of moving a small bundle of matter and energy in accordance with their own whims and wills, then a portion of the universe would become considerably less predictable. If anybody asks me why God created life, or why God doesn't babysit said life, that's my answer: we help subdivide eternity. By introducing an unpredictable element, we make it possible to distinguish one moment from the next. We, in effect, make existence interesting. |

Anyways there wouldn't be any of the great games we currently have. Where would the free will be? What would the point of life be? I wondered what the entire point of life was before, and the only real answer I could find was to just live it. Not really quite sure about everything |

I think life is like Hedgerow Hall (although, I will grudgingly admit that life did come first)... the point, so to speak, is that there is no point... at least, no point that is handed down to you from on high. No one hands you a roadmap or a purpose in life... it's up to you to build or discover these things on your own.
If God took active control over our lives... effectively told us, "Your purpose in life is to [X], and I plan on enforcing this," then our life would be pointless... we would merely be another extension of God's will. If I were to get all metaphysical, though, I'd suggest that this is what we are... except that we're portions of God's will that God has voluntarily cut off from the whole... the way that a mob in a DM program is part of the code, part of the world as a whole, but is also a self-contained little bundle of procs and vars. |

If so say why and if not say why. Oh gads. What is it with you people (by which I'm including Airson for that pledge post, and a couple of others) bringing up topics you know are just going to start massive flamewars because people differ so widely in opinions? All you're doing is starting a gigantic verbal brawl. I don't have a problem with honest debate, but in a community this large it's absolutely impossible to have a productive debate on anything this big or this personal. Shame on you for not showing a little tact. For my part I'll answer your question in the affirmative, but I won't say why. I'm not opposed to stating my beliefs, but the way you've broached this subject is obnoxious in the extreme, and I refuse to contribute any further to this thread. Lummox JR |

My Theroy on god is easy, Our planet is our god. It gives to us, it feeds us, it houses us, and were born of it. Very simple. Were always looking off for a powerful bieng or some supernatural energy when the simplest anwser could be below your feet. Just think when you die and go to "God" you'r buried in the Earth
anyways thats my view on it Good question, what does everything think a god does to make it a god? All powerful? all knowing? can do great feats? like id like to know what people think makes a god a god |
