You cannont compare god to freakin programing... Nadrew wrote: Sure you can, that probably shows he doesn't have as As stated before, I'm a relaxed agnostic - if she exists: great! If she doesn't exists: great! Hard to give respect to someone who is having a hard time being validated... either way, I won't lose sleep over it... And you can easily compare a god's "creation" (I notice you don't capitalize Her name anymore - losing faith?) to a computer program. The whole universe can actually be defined as a large object-oriented system which, in theory, could be simulated in the modern computer. Who knows? Maybe we are nothing but a complex simulation for creatures (who we currently refer to as gods) who live outside our ability to detect them... |

I believe that there is no god, at least not how most people invision him or it.
I believe that life happened, and we will never know why it happened, how it happened, and when it will stop happening. I also believe that man will not and can not ever meet his creator, or maybe we have already met our creator and we just dont know it? Also, about the meaning of life, I figure its something that contradicts its self. I mean, if you think about it, life has a point, and life doesnt have a point. You can live life sitting in one place and never moving, until you die. What is the point of doing this, well that is a rhetorical question really... Life is the greatest thing we have, but its also the first thing you need to have anything else. About afterlife, something that also contradicts its self. It would be really cool if we do infact have an afterlife, but it will also suck if we have an afterlife. Think about it, if afterlife is eternal, it will go on for ever and ever and ever. When i talk about this, or think about this, my mind cannot comprehend what it will be like, and how long it is. Its FOREVER..... And if there is no afterlife, then all your existance does is change history. After you die, you are no longer living, you no longer have a memory, and your body can no longer function. Therefore, you will not be able to realize that you are dead, and you will also not be able to realize you ever lived. Life, then, becomes something that only changes history, and there is no history without life, so.... Life is an ironic and contradicting experience for living organisms. Without life, this sentence would not exist, and without history, this sentence would have no meaning, being as its in English and exists in a format located on a man made device somewhere in the world. I also want to mention that i STRONGLY protest religion. Religion is something mankind created, and only exists to control stupid people who will believe it. It generates money, changes peoples lives, and puts people in a controlling position. Thats all its for, money, power, and control, and giving people hope that death will not be an empty and dreadful experience. |

I just hope I have enough quarters at the end to 'play again' - now that I know more of the rules of this game, I think I could get a better high score next time... |

What is impossible, though, Hehe, I am just trying to amuse myself... But I don't read most of them either, Lexy. You need a kid's version or something, cause my head starts spinning when I try. I had to read that last one though to find the single "is"! Aside from the humor, I see it as two ways- 1. God simply does not exist. He is a creation of our imagination and has NOTHING to do with creation or anything else. 2. This is my official standpoint, ok: God exists, but only as we see him. As in faith. Have we forgotten Zeus? Nope, so he's immortal, controlling our lives still, because we know and think about him. We know more about our current God, so we think about Him more, and He has more effect on our daily lives. If you truly believe He is a physical thing, He could change and possibly control your life. I think this theory explains a lot. Another example (And I'll compare it to God): Santa Clause is supposed to be some old man who lives in the north pole, who has live for what, 200 years? God is an old man (since Adam was created in his image, he must be male) who lives in heaven, and who has lived (in our minds) for 2000+ years? Parents tell their kids about Santa to get them to be good (to get presents). Preachers tell their faithful about God to get them to be good (the Ten Commandments). This post is getting a little too long so I'll stop....here. |

What if when you die, you come back as someone "NEW". Of course you wont know you are that person, you will just be completely different and stuff. Like you will be born as some other baby and have a "new life". Ya never know :-/

i agree with everything but the end. Religion was created(if there is no God or if there is) to help people have guild lines to live. It was not to make money. Most Churches barly have enough money to keep open. Religion keeps everyone from beign evil. Well at least alot of people. Even if there is no god religion is one of the most important thing that ever happend to the world. It set a standord of conduct and helped build All the great governments of the world and keep dictators out for the most part. The world would have been bad without it. And as more and more people loss faith its becoming worce. So even if you dont beleave in good, the word of the is good to live by. But worsuping the devil is the worce thing you can do. I mean thats a loss loss thing because no matter what your going to hell. This crap with taking out "under God" in the pleg is just nonsence. This country was built around gods laws, so keep it that way. It keeps us all sane!
