Exactly my point. I was saying that calling Spuzzum "no better than a racist" for commenting on other people's tastes is like saying someone who thinks violent thoughts is no better than a mass murderer... i.e., both are nonsensical.

I don't know how it's possible to string together so many words and still not have a sentence, but you pulled it off admirably. My very cute hat is off to you sir, as is my attempt to communicate with you.

I hadn't even considered that aspect until you mentioned it now. Before, what you said sounded completely irrelevant. Now, with this explanation, it's still irrelevant, but that irrelevance is caused by misinformation.

The people who predominantly play their bass loud around here are white Anglo-Canadians. I should know, I went to school with them. I despised the majority of them. Considering I'm a white Anglo-Canadian myself, it wasn't based on racism -- it was based on hatred of the thing the majority have the audacity to call music (it qualifies as noise, and maybe as sound in rare instances), their overwhelming tendency towards profanity without just cause, their promiscuity, their defacement of public property, and their sickeningly public abuse of drugs and alcohol near the school.

In Vancouver and the surrounding area, the population is of nearly every single race and culture. B.C. has the largest ratio of ethnic population to white Canadian population; the statistics on the minority population numbers from the '96 census for British Columbia are available here: http://www.statcan.ca/english/Pgdb/People/Population/ demo40c.htm (remember that it's outdated by 6 years -- Canada now has over 31 million people)

The majority of racial problems in Vancouver are caused by behind-the-scenes skinhead groups who prey mainly on Sikh followers, though there is some animosity towards other Asian cultures. By behind-the-scenes, I do mean behind-the-scenes... if any of those gang members were caught in the open by anyone, ranging from police to white civilians to newly-Canadian immigrants, they'd definitely wind up in the hospital or the morgue. When the KKK came to Vancouver one time, several members were killed. That alone should say something about our intolerance for racism.

There's the facts.

I never said I hated you. I've said numerous worse things to my online friends, but mostly those feelings have subsided. Now, for the most part, I just shake my head whenever I see your name appear on a thread, and try my best to avoid you.

Getting back onto the topic at hand, I never said anything even remotely close to an insult in my post. You, on the other hand, called me a racist, which definitely qualifies as an insult. I'm not one to stand idly by when someone says something incorrect, and insulting to me, you know: I correct statements that are blatantly wrong. I don't correct opinions, since no one has the right to correct other peoples' opinions unless they go against the very fabric of morals that they're brought up on. I wouldn't doubt that if you were to tell your mother that you were taught to assume someone is racist when they say they dislike people playing their crap with the bass cranked, she'd be a little surprised.

One more thing -- you're one to talk about "love", given that you were the one that insulted me.
