I'm leaving...

Unless someone gives me... *drum roll* One million dollars...

Seriously, though... Even though there may be a couple that wish this were true, I'm not really leaving... And if I was, I wouldn't bother to post some stupid leaving post...

What makes you people think that anyone cares that you're leaving? I keep seeing all of these posts announcing to everyone that someone or other is leaving BYOND...

Sometimes it's their first post on the boards that announces their departure! Why does some newbie that never posts here think that any of us care that he/she is leaving? lol

Oh well... There's really no real point in me even posting this besides wanting to vent about it...lol That, and the humor involved in laughing at those that think leaving posts are necessary...lol

And it's not just BYOND... This happens all over the place... People are way too melodramatic...lol

I've noticed a disturbing correlation between people's parting with dramatic "I'm leaving" posts and their returning several months later.

This could be due to a number of things. It could be that the people who don't make those posts come back at the same rate, but are simply less noticeable. Or it could be that those who are emotionally involved enough to want to make these posts are too involved to go cold turkey. The dramatic posts themselves are an indication that the poster isn't actually ready to leave.

It's especially bothersome in GS, where people who are leaving often give away all their items, then come back a few months later and expect to get them all back. I had someone give me one of the best mass-made weapons in the game, because he was leaving "forever," then he returned in a couple months begging for it back. I have had people return and beg for items back that they *sold* me. Drives me absolutely batty.
