lol, you sound like Mo'steel from a book series by K.A. Applegate, Remnants:
"You can't dwell on memories, you've gotta grab life by the horns and squeeze the A gland. Standing around and moping is what gives mother G the opportunity to bring us down." |

it's about normandy, WWII, I got it from a book a LONG time ago, but I recently re-heard it in Medal of Honor Frontline.

i dont know if this will ever happen, but i really hope that some day we find a way to prolong life. I am really scared by death, it is probably my worst fear. Mainly because i believe that there is no afterlife, death is just like when you go to sleep, but you dont wake up. You never knew you existed, you wont remember anything because your brain doesnt work anymore. I really believe that if I die, its all over, or actually it never started, I wont be able to know anything, remember anything, and therefore, the point of life is nothing, because when you die, life actually never happened! When you die, life never actually happened? That's like saying when you total your car, you never actually had a car. The point of life for me, is to have a blast. Sure, I'll eventually die, but I'll have had a great time before then. As for the reviving thing..well, im not even going to comment on that. Alathon\\ |

So metaphorically speaking, when you die, its like you never lived in the first place, you CEASE TO EXIST and i dont care what you think about my reviving view, its my opinion, and i seriously hope that some day they figure out a way to either bring you back to life, or prolong your life. i also agree, that while you are living, you should try to have a blast and have as much fun as you can. |

Is "Remnants" the newest in the "Left Behind" series? I think we've got a whole display of the things at Wal*Mart... I've heard a lot of good things about the series... Isn't it about the Biblical Rapture? Like when all of the "good" people get pulled directly up to Heaven, and those that are Left Behind get to suffer through the second coming? (forgive me if I'm wrong on the details...I'm not a church goer...lol)
But yeah...that quote sounds sort of like my philosophy... I refuse to let life's little problems get me worked up... Nothing is worth it to me... I rarely get angry, sad, scared, etc... I simply refuse to let anything bring me down... Why should I suffer over something that really isn't a problem when you really get down to it? Due to this outlook, I could never write effective music or poetry... I lack the internal angst required...lol Sure, I'm human like the rest of you, and I can't completely control negative emotions, and sometimes I slip... I do sometimes get angry, sad, etc... But only over things that I deem important enough to get that kind of reaction (for instance, all of the news lately about child kidnappings and killings and such makes me VERY angry...)... However, even in these situations, I do not allow my emotions to overcome me, and I soon put them back into their little box in my head...lol I dunno what caused it... Perhaps there's something wrong in my head... But whatever the reason...I really enjoy life without pain... And I frankly can't really see what others get so upset about all the time... Of course, I've never had to deal with anything really painful... My life has essentially been really good to me thus far... So perhaps my confidence in my emotional control is slightly unearned... Who knows how I'd fare under really painful situations... Although, my grandmother pased away a few months ago, and to this very day I have yet to become overly upset over it... Yes, I miss her, and I'd much prefer to have her still around... But it hasn't gotten to me... It almost makes me think that I've hardened too much... So who knows how tough my shell has become... Or if one day it'll turn out that I've just been bottling everything away and it'll all just snap and I'll go completely insane...lol But whatever... I'm ready for it... |

They are working on ways to prolong life...
A few hundred years ago, no one lived past 50...lol In the distant past, humans died shortly after reaching child-bearing age (which is probably the choice of nature... a lot of animals die after reproducing... having accomplished life's one main goal, they're done here...) But now it's getting more and more common for someone to live past 100... Even past 120... Given the right circumstances, you might just live to 130 or more... The only trouble is, we're not naturally designed to live this long... Our bodies aren't made for the artificial life extensions given by medical science and such... So by the time we reach that age, we pretty much fall apart into a pile of broken machinery... So who needs to live that long? I say life isn't worth extending if you won't be able to enjoy all of it... Just live it up now and worry about all of that stuff when it comes... |

No, it is about earth getting hit by an asteroid the size of england, it breaks the earth into 3 pieces, blah blah, but right before it hit, it was seen by a telescope, NASA put together a rip-raff space shuttle equipped with experementtal hibernation berths, and experemental solar sails, and an experemental guidance system. 80 people are chosen to escape and hopefully repopulate some distant world. The chances of it succeeding are like 1 in three trillion.
So... the ship drifts for 500 and some years, and somhow manages to land on a planet, 90% of the children on board survived, and like 40% of the adults survied, most of them died of dehydration, when the water systems on the hybernation had failed, some had just turned to mold and rotted, a few were eaten alive by mutant worms, and one was killed my micrometerites. Of the few that had survived, they had taken a hundred lifetimes of radiation, which as you find out later in the books, has a horrible effect on some of the survivors. GOOD reading. |

Ive experienced that blissfull place of know-nothing incorporeal non-existance, i remember it vividly. an eternity before this i was either nothing or part of something. That is why i can comprehend eternity because i know that it exists.. now heres a question.
If someone can remember the veil before they remember living does that mean there is an afterlife or what? this is where my theory of everyone being a part of god, having life to experience, then returning to god came from. personal memory of existing before existing.. I wasnt scared, i knew nothing and everything at the same time. So relax I assure you there is an afterlife. whats wrong with believing in something? only thing that people dont like are synical people. In this world today there is alot of proof on the afterlife. You just need to look for it.. read up on some religions the one that calms you is the one for you. but dont choose the first one you see thats evil , so is forcing babies into a religion at birth, i will loathe people like that. |

well for one, i dont believe in religion at all, and dont call me an athiest, because im not. I dont believe in labeling your beliefs, that is like giving a name to what you are thinking right now, which is entirely rediculous. I would name my thoughts, like, Joey's Thoughts 2kb Version 2.0 or anything you know?
So dont label me, i dont believe in it, and i dont believe in organized religion, its only something to give people power. It was created so that someone with power could control people who dont have as much power as the leader. Anyways, religion is usually a way of life, and i live my life the way I want to live my life. Not the way its been mapped out by someone else in a book or something.... |

As for me, If i absolutely had to commit suicide, id head off into the wilderness with nothing but the clothes on my back, and i would travel on a personal quest until i die of starvation/thirst/or injury. It is then that animals would devour my corpse and I would go back to nature. About a year ago I read about a company that was trying to start a program to allow people to have their corpses made into animal feed after they die. I thought it was really interesting, although its unlikely they'd ever be allowed to.. It's even something I'd consider having done to me (at this point, I plan on donating my body to science.. so med students can put hats on me). I think burial is an incredibly selfish and wasteful thing to do. Cremation I am okay with, but I really think more people need to make themselves useful to society after death.. a lot of people don't even donate organs. -AbyssDragon |

I am Dan... I am SSGX... But SSGX is not Dan... So, in essence, there are two me's... Understandable, though personally I don't draw much of a distinction, if any, between Guy and Gughunter; for me Gughunter is just a handy handle to use online. |

I'm not scared to die. If i were to die tommorow I would not be scared. Death is not something to be feared, its a natural part of life. But I do believe in an afterlife, I'm a christian and I know theres a heavan, I'm not scared to die becuase I know where I'm going when I die.
