What I'm posting this for is to ask for....meaningful opinions, not ones that insult, or start flame wars.

I'm curious if anyone thinks BYOND will ever really be able to go public? I mean think about it, with so many flame wars going on all the time. Or maybe the way many newbies can act towards others? Can BYOND handle such a hassel?
I'm sure Dantom will do some reorganizing of their network before they open everything up to the public. I suspect that the games live section will be restricted to accepted games, and a not-so-public testing channel will be open for people who want to play unregistered games. From there all they need to do is find some way to filter out the unwanted people and draw in the decent folks.

But Dantom can't stand to make any decent money if they never go public with BYOND, so I'm sure they're working on it as best they can at the moment.
What do you mean by public, isn't BYOND open to whoever wants to mess with it?

Think of it as any other company beggining to get popular, sure, there will be the odd idiot, but they will just get ignored and bumped out of place. When this gets as you like to call it really public i don't think there will be to much of a hassel with newbies.

BYOND is open to anyone who comes to BYOND. "Going public" would mean that BYOND stops waiting for people to come find it, and goes out looking for people.
