24 hours. 1 theme. 6+ BYOND Memberships/extensions, free digitalBYOND hosting AND MORE up for grabs! Are you game?

As I post this, there are just under 48 hours to go until the Game-in-a-Day Challenge gets underway. So sharpen your programming skills, clear your timetable, stock up on your caffeinated beverage of choice, check out the official forum and get ready to jump into the chatroom - it's nearly time to paaaaarty!

Thanks to several generous donations, we now have an absolute minimum of 6 BYOND Memberships up for grabs - and the more entries we receive, the more prizes there will be, so make sure you get a piece of the action!

Remember, all you need to do to participate is:
  1. Log in to the chatroom sometime during Saturday September 16th, BYOND Standard Time.
  2. Make a rockin' game that makes use of the theme word that we'll give you when the challenge starts. Check the rules to make sure you're not breaking any!
  3. Send your completed entry, with full source code, to [email protected]
It should be lots of fun, so don't miss out!
/me goes to get a 12pack of Dr. Perky(Food Lion brand Dr.Pepper)
Sadly I must withdraw from the contest. I was unable to get Saturday off. This week has sucked pretty hard so far.
/me has to choose between going to his dad's for the weekend, or participating in game-in-a-day.
You think that's tough, Evi?

/me has to choose between hot sex and participating in the game-in-a-day.
@Danial: I'm rather partial to Safeway's and President's Choice's generic equivalents as well.

It's actually called "Dr Pepper", without any period for the "Dr". It's part of the trademark. If you're a true lover of the bold, rich mix of 23 flavours that last and last, you should heed this. ;-)
I'm waiting for the fun.
/me gets day off on saturday because dad is working in wally's world that day. Yay I can participate.
The name's Crispy. *Extra* Crispy.

Extra Crispy was one of the teachers in Computer Camp's nickname... o_O

Working on Saturday? Darn, that does suck.

Yeah? Well, I once met an evangelist called Sister Flake. (True story! She came up to me in the street and said "hi, I'm Sister Flake, and I'd like to talk to you about Jesus"... I stifled a chuckle and politely refused.)
I have a football game on Saturday, I think! Oh noes. All my other games were at 8:30 in the morning but if this one is on Saturday it's at 5:00 PM this time. >_< I think it is Saturday because we have to be there by 2:30 and watch the sophmores play for a while then get ready or something... I wonder if it'd be possible to move it to start on 12:00 AM Sunday and end at 12:00 AM Monday... That'd be so awesome, hehe..
/me has to decide between sitting in front of my computer not doing anything or sitting in front of my computer for the contest.

DECISIONS DECISIONS
Not funny, Ben. Besides, I've seen a few other people that said that they couldn't participate that I'm sure would turn in some good entries, so that's also part of the reason of why I asked.
As much as I'd like to be flexible, unfortunately it's a bit late to change the time now. I decided not to hold it on Sunday because I figured people would want their sleep before school/work on Monday. But if you want to at least make a start on Saturday morning, then we could perhaps make a separate "48-hour finishers" category for people who submit after the deadline but before midnight Sunday (BST). You wouldn't be eligible for any prizes though.
You could give 3 to people to participate on Saturday and 3 who participate on Sunday. You could also give 2 differnt words, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. And of course, you could only participate in one day, Saturday or Sunday.
Yes, if there's a next time we might set it up like that, but I'm reluctant to make such sweeping rule changes so close to the challenge.
No lummy? <:O

I may or may not be able to make it. I used the time calculator to see how long I have, and it's just 1 hour after midnight that it ends. I won't be able to for sure until noon, and then the day is hazy after that.
I'm anticipating that most people won't be using the whole 24 hours. That's okay, since it's perfectly possible to make a BYOND game in less time than that. :-)
night i am sleeping so I can get up early in time for 7 am
