What's the benefit of choosing to run past these enemies over blasting them into space bits? Wasn't the robot sent to find life?.. poor thing got turned into a killing machine. D; Mini backstory dump: It's mission is to find signs of life and contact it's homeworld with any information relevant to that. Besides that, it follows the laws of robotics, so it is trying to preserve itself as best as possible. I will most likely make it possible to complete the game as passively as possible, only requiring the player to defeat bosses. This means no doors unlocked by killing enemies, other than bosses (Metroid does this). Besides that though, the robot sequences all DNA of any surrounding lifeforms. Even if it wipes out all life on that planet, it's creators can bring them back. All this considered, the priority of keeping alien from harm is low. The AI though... This information will be made apparent in the game, in a much more streamlined way. |

Good luck! :) I gave it a yes.

Added a bit of a blood splash effect as requested. I also adjusted the bits so that they fall at slightly randomized speeds. It isn't really noticeable here but it's working. |
Maybe I missed some information. Where does it say that he is working on Unreal Engine and then using BYOND? We know he started with BYOND but, all I can see is "Wolf-Pack Battalion is currently being developed in Unreal Engine 4." Which is very much possible, they could have switched over to a different engine... Let's keep this thread as positive as possible.. not tear down progress.

I was wondering who that Ashley was! She helped remind me to link back to our roots here on BYOND as well as link our dev thread on the Unreal forums. In the end she and I agreed that there are plenty of games on steam if she doesn't like ours :)
To clarify: We did switch engines sorry byondlings <3 |

Good to see you guys still kicking. Keep it up and keep us posted. |

Thanks Ter, we were a little nervous to how everyone would react to the engine change and didn't want to disappoint anyone expecting a BYOND release. We'll be sure to keep you guys updated as we progress!

Not much of a game yet, but a combat concept I would like to make a game based on. Read the Red text if you want to play it :). |
