"Revel in the distance traveled. Plan for the path ahead."

Found out I'll be working 12 hour shifts for the next couple months so progress will likely come to a crawl when that does happen. Skirmish will not die out and will only continue to grow until it's the beast it is meant to become.

Until then there's a three day weekend so expect gifs again starting Saturday!

EDIT: For the non-veteran a Skirmites, the pictures are from a much, much earlier build(february, actually).

Loving that second pic. If I can make a suggestion- I think you should try redoing the foliage of your trees. Give em a more simple style, less congested, like the rest of your art. It feels like it doesn't fit in well and the fact that it's just one tree replicated makes it more prevalent. It could just be the palette it's using but ideally I think it would benefit from a complete do-over. The bark looks like it's good though.

The dude's head is stuck in the fence, and you're worried about the trees.

Haha I think that's a problem he's aware of or currently working on .

@Kumorii: I see, so I can't really give you any good suggestions then. Can't wait to see the new stuff.

I'm sure he'll get it fixed soon, looking forward to more updates.
Guys, it's already fixed. The screenshots are from an earlier build. Duh.
You guys suck in the best nonsexual way. <3

Don't you know that a picture is worth a thousand words? They were already tired from all those thousand words they couldn't be bothered to read those seventeen words.

What you should have done, is posted 2,017 words so the words would have been worth more than the pictures.
The demo is actually much faster than the recording.

At the moment, all this does is record the movements made and replays them. I have an awesome idea to use this with but I'd like to do a stress test first.

Side Notes: See the red box is floating at the beginning? i was an idiot and forgot to reset step_x/y.

That's what I'm currently up to.

That's awesome but damn if I wasn't confused for a second.
Here's something I did today for Transcendence.

It's part of the intro to the game, I'm still finishing it up. Also, not being bias or anything :] but it looks soooo much better in-game, it really comes to life so beautifully.

It's already nice. I'm sure it's 100 times better in game. One thing I always notice about this title is the contrast in colors.

Thank you very much! And yeah I'll be using that contrast for the Spirit World's art to give it that glowing essence to it. For the Physical World it'll be a completely new art style though, depending on the era and several other factors. This is actually something I'm really looking forward to since throughout time each culture has had its own art influences. Be it Asian, Greek, Egyptian, Celtic, Aztec, African- They all have their own beautiful art styles and colors that represent them. That's something I'm pretty excited to jump into soon and hopefully others will enjoy it as well.

Haha, thanks! I should had mentioned that I was pressing a verb that killed myself, brought me back to the start, and a ghost of replayed my actions.

How do you make a beam like that stretch to whatever distance tell it hits something. I was thinking of making some type of hookshot ability for platforming. Something like that would be useful for the size of the hook shot. You just use matices? Or is the lazy a bunch of separate objects?

Nice explosion animation
The laser is most likely a single icon transformed (scaled and rotated). The burn marks are individual objects (maybe animated to shrink and fade over time). This sort of process makes it easy on network bandwidth.
