Looks weird having blur on the fire but no blur on the floating swords.

Yeah, it's something I've seen in a couple of games. It's a cool concept, nonetheless.
To be honest I'm sure you could put a scientific twist on it. What about... FLOATING GLOWING GUN?? That's definitely new.

The platforms just disappearing is a little weird to me. Would make more sense if they were transitioned out somehow

I plan to have them strewn about in the wreckage afterward, but they'll start to fall as the screen is starting to white out.

a group of sentient pulse rifles or laser guns :P.

similar to the original sword concept except they each line up in a certain pattern to shoot.

Reminds me of an old cartoon that i saw once a looooong time ago. Like when i was 4 or something. After some googling it was an episode of duck dodgers :P. Uhh porky had turned into a gun and dodgers had turned into a hand to shoot porky ;). Or something... i remember it because they played some of these old arse cartoons at this hotel i was staying at which were basically all loony toonz.
I'm getting around to working on a SignedDouble class, finally (I had some bits done but not much). Because it's a subclass of UnsignedDouble and because of the way two's complement notation works, I shouldn't actually have to alter very many if SignedDouble's methods. Hopefully this means or should be available to use soon, and not take as long as the unsigned version did. Hopefully.

Dunno if you already have this planned, but having a "Poisoned" pop up like the Dodge does would be great if you get afflicted by them.

Also a little icon or something beside your health bar would be great too.
