How long before the game is public??
According to their Steam Greenlight page, "Release date: Summer 2015"
I know they ran into some trouble, especially with the Kickstarter not succeeding. Hopefully Doohl can give us an estimate.

The summer was a little too optimistic for a full release even if we were funded. Our plan ATM is to host the game on BYOND for a few weeks, gather feedback, make improvements, and then eventually attempt a second Kickstarter with live servers available and an improved video pitch. We're trying our best to be funded because it'll mean that our full release can have a lot more content available.
We're in no hurry to make this happen, though. The pace we've been going at has been consistent and good, so there's no real deadline set, only a mentality to work on the game as much as possible. There's also the roadblock of the webclient's FPS not being up to par as of yet, but with the steady improvements that have been coming that'll hopefully be a non-issue once we do want to playtest on a larger scale. |

@Roxas: Public, but it won't be advertised on our social media-- just a test run within the BYOND community. It'll last a few weeks or so, or as much time as it takes to catch any bugs that would have otherwise been in the Kickstarter demo. We're also curious to see how much interest there will be and if the game can sustain a player-base as it is. Ideally we'll want an active community throughout the campaign.
@ManaSoul: We're not accepting donations at the moment but if you want to chip in when we attempt our second Kickstarter campaign, that would be appreciated. Thanks! |

This sounds great, you guys seem to be really focused on what you have to do and you're going about it very efficiently. As far as exposure, where is your game currently being marketed(if you don't mind me asking)? You did really well with your Kickstarter and you already have lots of support. I was wondering if you could tell us what websites you are getting the most support from and any suggestions for other developers like myself(how can we begin to market our games)? |

I'm really just interested in learning what Pixel Realms is doing- since they actually have numbers to back it up at the moment. There is nothing in that post that wasn't obvious already; I'm sure these guys have the game up in several sites, so it'd be nice to get an idea of which sites are more effective and how to go about it. I think it's better to get this info from people currently doing it, like Pixel Realms.

I know, I was just poking around and found that ;p

@Pixel Realms All I care about is art and so if you don't mind, I would like to offer my two cents. Do you think it would be better to have variations in tilesets so that they look less, boring(couldnt think of a good word)?
I love everything else though! You guys are gonna rock! Make BYOND proud :P |

Keep in mind we've been showing you a small fraction of the game in our screenshots and gifs. We do have different tilesets for different regions of the world / different atmospheres, etc.

I think he meant more variety within each tileset. Like in that last pic you posted, all the floor tiles for the cabin are exactly the same. There's nothing there to break up that repetitive pattern, so it makes it look "boring". Although I don't think boring is the correct word either.
