Hmm, I've been curious about how to pronounce different peoples names on BYOND. Well, first I'm going to start with BYOND itself.
Is 'BYOND' - {{BEE OND}} or {{BIE OND}}
Is 'Sariat" - {{SAH RATE}} or {{SARE E AT}} or {{SARE E ATE}}
Is 'Jummox' - {{LUM OX}} or {{LUX IX}}
Is 'Foomer' - {{FOO MER}} or {{FOH MER}}
Is 'Kusanagi' - {{KUS ANA GI}} or {{KUSAN NAGI}} or {{KU SAN UGHI}}
Don't ask me why I'm asking this... I'm just curious :-P

I say it Drak-on, whether you like it or not.

My name is pronounced Ee-Nuu-Sa-Ch-Err-Ah-Guy, jeez how could you not tell?! Err, it's actuall pronounced Coo-Sa-Na-Gee, a guy on Natural-Selection radio asked me on IRC how to pronounce my name so he could say it on the radio, and thats the same thing I told him, so it's the official pronounciation!
<<>>Kusanagi<<>> |
The name of this system is pronounced like "beyond"... Or at least one would naturally assume that...
As for my name... It's easy..lol Super (just like it's supposed to be pronounced) Saiyan (say-en) Goku (Go-koo) X (ecks) But it's not like anyone really wanted or needed to know that...lol Although, back in my days of being a Yahoo! games chatter, it confused a lot of people since Yahoo doesn't display names with capitals... It just looks like "supersaiyangokux", and anyone not at least semi-familiar with the show usually has a hard time figuring out the word separations... But you can just call me "Ess Ess Gee Ecks"...lol |

My name backwards is cool. Too bad it sounds so EEVVIILL, or I'd use it.

BYOND = Bee-ond
According to proper English pronunciation rules: BYOND = Byond (i.e. slurred into one syllable) Sariat = Sair-ee-at Lummox JR = Luh-mucks Jay-Arr Foomer = Foo-mer Kusanagi = Koo-sah-nah-gee (hard G) Spuzzum = Spuz-um Maz = Mazz Polatrite = Poh-lah-trite Dracon = Drah-kon What people may say is irrelevant, since that's how they're pronounced in English. =P |

Is 'Sariat" - {{SAH RATE}} or {{SARE E AT}} or {{SARE E ATE}} Sah-rate would be "Sarate", and sare-e-ate would be "Sariate". There's no E on the end of it, so only the middle one makes any sense. Is 'Jummox' - {{LUM OX}} or {{LUX IX}} Ouch! At least get the spelling on those consistent! Lummox is pronounced with a schwa (muttering vowel) for the o, I believe, and the stress is on the first syllable. What most people get wrong, though, is the JR; they pronounce it as Junior, which it isn't. Is 'Foomer' - {{FOO MER}} or {{FOH MER}} Foh-mer would be "Fomer". Kind of obvious. Check that. Horrifically obvious. Is 'Kusanagi' - {{KUS ANA GI}} or {{KUSAN NAGI}} or {{KU SAN UGHI}} Inasmuch as the name appears to follow a Japanese form, I'd say it's pronounced koo-suh-nah'-gee (stress on the 3rd syllable, hard G, schwa in the 2nd syllable). Lummox JR |
