Ohh you should get WWF: No Mercy, it's like WCW vs NWO World Tour or Revenge. But NEwayz, get the X-Box, I don't have one but I like the feature of storing music on it and shit. It's tight.
|
I know nothing about the GC and little about the XBox, but here goes.
Can't say for Xbox, but PS2 is pretty reliable. Most problems I've heard about with PS2 involve a dirty CD lens. Sony already has a couple online games out, from what I hear, but I imagine Xbox does or will too. For my personal needs, which involve exploring gigantic cities and doing insane stunts with a variety of vehicles, PS2 wins hands down thanks to its lock on the GTA series. PS2 also has a giant inventory of games available, not to mention the several hundred blocky-but-still-fun PS1 titles you can play on it. I love the PS2 controller. The default Xbox controller is kind of funky (not the good kind of funky either), but I hear there are other designs available, so this is probably a moot point. I don't think the next generation of consoles is expected before 2005. |

Starfox Dinosaur Planet was in development for the N64 originally. It goes a while back, but they never released it. And as for the cel shading with the new Zelda game; I would have bought a GC and the Zelda game if the game was as cool as the first pics I saw of it were. But then they made it cel shaded, and made Link look like he was 6. Nintendo (and almost every other company) does whatever it takes to make money. Pokemon Snap, an attempt to cash in on the Pokemon craze. Same with Hey You Pikachu, or whatever that game was that used a mic. Poor quality in some of the Gameboy Pokemon games (Gold and Silver maybe, i forget. But I know some of them got bad reviews). And a N64 console with Pikachu on it. Nintendo sucked all the money they could out of Pokemon, and that is why I refuse to support Nintendo.

so because of 1 game you hate it? besides its just a remake of an older zelda game in a way. i think for the exception of link the game looks pretty good. but hey i dont complain about 3d graphics cell shading is an awesome style i think they executed perfectly in the game and even if they were n64 gfx if the game had great gameplay and controls i would buy it.

They were busy making horrible Pokemon games. Also, Nintendo lost Squaresoft when they decided to use cartridges. Nintendo has done some stupid things, and THAT is why I stopped buying from them. |
They are all reliable, but the Xbox has one problem, especially in Morrowind. Every once in awhile, you will find a game that will keep giving you a "dirty disc" message. However, getting a new game disc seems to fix it every time, except in the case of Morrowind. PS2 has online capability right now, for both modems and broadband, but mostly for broadband. The xbox is going online next month, but only broadband users can use it. They all have good games, but PS2 has the most. This, again makes sense, since it has been out for a year longer. This is completely a matter of opinion. I suggest you figure out which one feels the most comfortable for you. I like the xbox controller the most (not the new, smaller Controller S), though it did take some getting used to at first. I am about 90% sure that both Xbox 2 and PS3 are coming out in 2006. Very strong rumors suggest that Nintendo will not be releasing another console after the Gamecube. So, in any case, all three are a safe bet in this category. In conclusion, my favorite is the xbox, but I think all of the console-bashing is stupid on all sides. Everyone has their favorite, and I would have all three if I could afford it, but alas, I cannot. |

no i mean you hate zelda because of the new game?...and there were how many pokemon games for n64? (the pokemon games were fun for awhile) uhhh 3? that had nothing to do with metroid or star fox or any other game not being created. rare is just slow in making games and decided to make perfect dark and what not. they used cartridges and lost square...sony just lost square end of story. and when the ps2 came out how many more games did they make for ps1? like 5? and the ps3 is scheduled to drop somewhere near 2005 so yeah about a year and a 1/2 then people can get imports. i dont know if your a sony fanboy or xbox fanboy for saying nintendo sucks without thinking...

They wanted to release a Starfox game that had Fox in an adventure type game so they just converted that over. This is very evident by their bad explanation of why Fox wasn't allowed to use a gun. |

So you think Nintendo is trying to milk the market by rereleasing the same game over and over? Squaresoft has been doing that long before anyone else. The main gameplay in a Squaresoft game hasn't really changed much since FF4 they just change the name of magic and come up with mildly different ways of giving it to the player. And the reason for changing to CDs is for more profit on the side of the developer. Cartridges are much better and because of that they cost more but if you sell your games on a cheaper medium you get a larger profit margin. |

I am not a "fanboy" of any one system. I think Nintendo has made some stupid moves, therefore I don't support them. I have never said that Nintendo sucks. I was a big Nintendo fan in the 80s and early 90s. However, times have changed. I am not a fanboy, I am an informed consumer. Right now, Nintendo is doing worse than I expected, Microsoft is doing better than I expected, and Sony is doing just like I expected. That doesn't mean Nintendo sucks, I just expected them to do better. That doesn't mean the Xbox is good, I just had low expectations. And for Sony, the PS2 came out before the other two, so it had a good selection of games when the Xbox and GC were just being released. Yea, I have a PS2, but that's because I got it before the other two came out. I also have a 3do, that doesn't mean I think its the best system. As for "saying nintendo sucks without thinking", I did think. I stated four or five reasons why I don't support them, shall I name them again? Lack of more (or any in Metroid's case) Mario, Starfox, or Metroid games for N64, killing my hopes for the new Zelda game, using cartridges, too many Pokemon games, and two more reasons: way too few rpgs for the N64, and Nintendo fired Gunpei Yokoi (it can also be spelled "Gumpei" I believe). So my reasons for disliking Nintendo are based on their actions with the N64, but they messed that system up, so why waste my money on a GameCube? "and when the ps2 came out how many more games did they make for ps1? like 5?" Generally when a new system comes out, that company's old system is deemed "dead", thus few games are made for it. |

Oh yes, I do see the striking resemblance between FF$ and FFX. But Final Fantasy has not been marketed as much as Nintendo did for Pokemon. They stopped at one bad FF movie, Nintendo persisted. There's no "Cloud Strife" PS-X console. If they had a console I but they would have. They just release game after game with little improvment over the last. CDs are cheaper, but Cartridges are faster for loading. CDs hold more, at least that was the case with the N64's cartridges. No, CDs hold a small amount. You can spend 100$ and get a cartridge that can hold 20Gigs worth of space that's more than a few DVDs worth of space. That's a bit pricy but I don't think most games will need that much space and witll opt for a smaller cartridge that will hold as much as it needs which could still be vastly more than a CD. And the N64 cartridges were less because they are just useing older technology. A system that uses cartridges will have more expensive games but I think the cartridge is a much nicer medium since you can include things inside a cartridge like special chips to do certain things better that doesn't come default with the system. That and the fact that access time to a cartridge is usually hundreds to thousands of times faster than access to a CD and cartridges aren't noisy. Cartridges are also significantly more durable and work longer than CDs before they go bad. So Cartridges are more expensive but they tend to be better in all aspects over a CD or DVD. |

"Lack of more (or any in Metroid's case) Mario, Starfox, or Metroid games for N64" So you basically hate it because of a few games you brand kiddy games aside from metroid not gfx...and your saying you hate it because of some guy i dont know and also because you think they ruined a game not even out so therefore you shouldnt judge it yet...very shallow reasons indeed.

My console of choice for this round was the GameCube...
It was decided for me long ago when I first heard inklings of a sequel to the N64 hit Super Smash Bros... It only snowballed from there... And so far, I have not been disappointed... Not only is Super Smash Bros Melee alone worth buying the entire system for (assuming you have friends to play it with)...there are all kinds of other "must have" titles in the library of GCN games...
C'mon... It's Nintendo... If they're not reliable, then gravity is not reliable...lol If you mean in terms of system stability, I've never run into any problems with my GC... No "bugs"... No hardware problems whatsoever... Everything's in perfect working order and has never given me the tiniest bit of trouble... There are both phone and cable modem add-ons coming for the GC... Nintendo has really downplayed this aspect, though... The powers that be at Nintendo have said that they don't really feel that it's necessary for good video games to have online capability, and that the technology still isn't ready to support it fully... However, despite all of that, they're still rolling out online capability for the GC... That all depends on what you're looking for... Like I mentioned above, I had to have a GameCube based on Super Smash Bros Melee alone... The original SSB is one of my favorite games of all time... It's the most fun I've ever had with a video game (4 player, of course)... And the sequel is everything it was and more... They made the perfect game better...lol But on top of that, there's all kinds of other extremely sweet games for the GC... Star Wars: Rogue Leader is simply breathtaking... The upcoming Metroid: Prime looks awe-inspiring... Mario Sunshine is great... The new Zelda (despite the "cel-da" look) promises to be a great game... Star Fox looks sweet... I have a friend that's hooked on Animal Crossing...lol I myself really enjoyed Pikmin... Resident Evil (and all of the coming sequels) was so good it actually managed to frighten me (a distinction that is given a high honor in my life... very few things manage to get my heart pumping like that game did...lol) The list goes on and on... I've never been a fan of the PSOne's controllers... I just never could get used to them... And since the PS2's are exactly the same, I find them awkward as well... The XBox's factory controllers are too clunky for me... But the GameCube's... Perfection... They fit so nicely into your hands, and all of the buttons are so easily reachable... No awkward finger exercises needed to use the buttons on this controller...lol And that's the factory packaged controller... There's also a wireless version available... Again, making a perfect thing better... Game systems usually have a life of about 5 years before they are replaced... So I don't see any of these three getting knocked off by a little brother anytime soon... Regardless of speculation of a "PS3"...lol Anyways, my opinion firmly stands at the GameCube being the best way to go... But it all boils down to what games you want to play... After all, that's the reason you're getting a video game system... Get the one that has the most games that appeal to you... Because beyond that, they're all pretty much the same thing in a different plastic box...lol |

D) If cartridges are better, why did Nintedno use discs for the GameCube Everyone else is doing it and getting away with it so they followed along. Since there are less expenses on them that means more profit. |

Well if you don't know who he (Gunpei Yokoi) is, then don't say that's a bad reason for me not liking Nintendo. He was the inventor of the Gameboy, the best selling handheld unit of all-time. And, yes, he created the Virtual Boy so they fired him. Also, I'll say it again. Nintendo wasted thier time with Pokemon games instead of games that interested me. I didn't say that Mario and Starfox are "kiddy", but games with plumbers and foxes, well, tink what you want. I would have bought them had Nintendo made them. I'm not complaining about the games they made, as much as I am complaining about the games they didn't make.
Shallow reasons? Until you can comprhend the things I am saying, then don't call my reasons shallow. I have named about six or seven reasons why I don't support Nintendo. Judging Zelda before it comes out? I am not going to run out and buy a GC because of one game, and when they (in my opinion) killed it, then there was no hope of my getting a GC. " So you basically hate it because of a few games" Yes, that's exactly it. They made too few games, and few of them were of interest to me. |

your just saying you hate it because of the nintendo brand games. nothing about its gfx quality its loading time or anything...you havent played any games and yet they dont interest you...funny guy try SSBM oh wait no..its kiddy and they are milking it cause it has pokemon in it. 3 pokemon games inst exactly a waste of time when 2 of the pokemon games were identical. and you hate the console because of the portable...what came from that? the GBA so you have no solid reason to hate nintendo or the GC... your just saying because nintendo doesnt make enough games for their console. what about sony? i dont see many games made by sony except everquest...does that mean i should hate sony? and say they have bad choices?
