anyone know about if theres a embeded messenger on microsoft windows NT, that you can only access through the run program in the start menu? i heard there is but dont know the command to open it

There is a network messenger service on NT, 2000, and XP machines that is used for network announcements from administrators. There has been recent news that someone (I forget who exactly) has developed a way to send data to that service from the internet to use as a form of pop-up advertising (I currently get adverts for university degrees). From what I have heard, it's not illegal (yet).
