Well, after awhile of debating (with myself). I think I'm getting an Xbox. It might not have as much games as the PS2, but it has some good ones. (with many more GOOD ONES coming!)

Also, it was join an Online Football League. (http://www.thexbfl.com/)

Trust me, the games are fantastic... especially after the early November sweep. Splinter Cell alone is worth buying an Xbox for. XboxLive is a ton of fun as well.

And if you have the extra $200 to shell out, get Steel Battalion, especially if you like 50-foot monsters of mechanized death.
Any of them would have been a good choice, so I congratulate you on your decision.

I chose xbox as well, back when it first came out, and I have been completely satisfied. And yes, Splinter Cell *must* be one of the first games you get. I cannot stress just how awesome the game is. It amazes me at every turn.
Dead or Alive Volley Ball... Need anymore to be said? No
Here are the games that I am going to get (In order)

Madden 2003 (A must! Too bad EA and Microsoft are bitching about who hosts what so it's not on Live! :()
NFL2K3
Shenmue II
Halo

Then I will rent until I find what else is good.

Looking at :

May Payne
Silent Hill 2
Splinter Cell (Since I heard so much about it)
NFL Fever

Which other ones do you reccomend? And what Accesories do you reccommend? I am looking at Xbox Live!, but I read that you need a credit card to use it. And my parents have bad credit.

Football games wont be complete until you can decapitate heads and see broken bones jutting out of protective gear

i liked Halo. it was completely different from the pathetic FPS ive seen like Quake and UT.

even the online FPS Ive found lacking greatly. I even have a concept for a true Online shooter thats persistant, i have a habit of writing down improved versions and addons to existing games.

Halo has great graphics, some minor slow-down, controls are hard to get used to but I adapt. Never made it really far becuase I traded the Xbox i had for PS2 since really good games were coming out for PS2, and the Xbox only had sports and action coming out for the next YEAR

I have a question for Xbox Live....

What is the purpose of the Credit Card? Do I need to pay even more after the 50 buck starter kit? I thought that bought me the 12 month subscription?

How do I connect XboxLive? Does it go into my phone line? (I have DSL) Do I need to have it connected to my computer? (My room is pretty far from my computer.... :/)

Thanks.

Best Xbox games I have played:

Splinter Cell (best game I have ever played)
Phantom Crash (not for everyone)
MechAssault
Halo
Shenmue II
Timesplitters 2
Jet Set Radio Future
Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Gunvalkyrie
Madden 2003
NFL Fever 2003(Live-enabled)
Hunter: the Reckoning

There may be more. I finish games and trade them off, so I'm not sure if I am missing any.

I'd recommend Xbox-live and MechAssault. Steel Battalion looks good if you have $200 extra dollars.

Edit: other games to get:
Dead or Alive 3
Dead or Alive Extreme Volleyball
Deathrow
Shenmue 2

Ok, well i dont have Xbox live, and neither do i plan upon getting it. (no broadband in my area.) but i can connect my pc to the Xbox via the socket at the back for using system link.
I have no clue what a broadband plug loks like, so this is justa guess but i would presume that you would hook your system link plug into the main wire for where your DSL would go.. if that makes any sense?

No sense at all, lol.

Can anybody who has Xbox Live! please tell me how this works?

Pick up information there.

It comes with a fancy $150 controller. The controller thingy is made specailly for that game, as far as I know, so I'd imagine that it would only be compatible with this game and its sequel(s).

Splinter Cell is also a must-have. It's the best game I've ever played on any platform.

I tried the demo for Shenmue 2 and I hated it, but I understand some people are into it.

The controller is 3 piece, plus footpedals. It enhances the gameplay simply because it feels like you're actually in the cockpit. I don't have an Xbox though, so meh.
