I'd say that "physical well-being" is definitely in danger when pain is involved... So in a sense, "materialism" does have a slight connection to being afraid of pain...lol

However, this is most definitely not the generally accepted connotation of the word... So I'm not trying to say that Dareb is right... Just that he's not completely wrong...lol
