Okay, my computer is only connected to the internet through my mom's computer, as well as my brother's. It's mom's computer with 2 wires running off that connect us. now is it possible to run a game through a network without having to publish it?
You never have to "publish" a game.

The problem is that without a connection to the internet, there's no way to validate your BYOND key when logging into a game. It is possible to have one person log in remotely using the name "Guest" as I found out, even if you cannot validate other keys.

If you are connected to the internet, this should not be a problem.

If mom is connected to the 'net, and you are connected to her, then you should be able to use some form of internet sharing - depends on the version of operationg system that your are using. For example, OS's like Win XP and Mandrake Linux have easy to configure internet connection sharing features that will let other computers connected to it share its access to the 'net. Your mileage may vary...
