If you haven't noticed, I've been away from BYOND. What have I been doing? Playing Half-Life, of course. Well, not just any ordinary Half-Life... I've been playing the Earth's Special Forces (http://www.esforces.com)modification for Half-Life. It is a Dragonball Z MOD for Half-life. And it's awesome, seeing as how the Beta version just came out a few weeks ago. It resembles everything like the show. Check it out if you have Half-Life. Another great Dragonball Z mod is http://dmz.flagrun.net
Woo. Half-Life. Yay.

Well I don't really care for dbz but if it is what you say i guess it'll be worth checking out.

I'll throw in my expert tongue on Half-Life mods :).
I would have to rate this mod a 6/10(No, not because it is DBZ). At first, this mod is a grade A superior game with great graphics and concept, the beams and attacks are splendid as is the soundtrack and the voicing, this is basically the core of the mod, once you get through all this cream filling comes the aftertaste, a bad one! The battles are all the same: target, charge at, punch, person flies and gets stunned and then you beat on him while he's down(Usually smashed into the floor, literally!), then when target gets back up you charge hit him again upward and he flies into the air and lands again, allowing you to repeat and giving the target maybe a split second chance to counter and just maybe hit you backwards. This looks all pretty until after about 2 hours of gameplay, then it just bites totally! The horse gameplay totally ruins this work of modification-art, below I'll list some of the better features of the game. Find the seven dragonballs: Mode where you activate your scouter to penpoint the dragonballs on the map, you then find them and summon "Shenron" who will grant you a few wishes, the ones I know of are: 40 seconds of immortality, and a 1 million powerlevel bonus(Thats a small gain, the average you start with is around that and you gain like 100,000 per kill). Edited mapping system which allows for maps 2 - 15x of that of normal Half-Life, which allows for maps even bigger than that of tribes 1 and 2, this is especially useful for the dragonball quest, since once shenron is summoned he takes up a large quantity of the map(Takes like 30 seconds to fly past half is body, which is long in game time :P). Voice matching for each of the characters moves, and these voices are actually clear and cut. Over about 30 different moves, and transformations for each character to keep balancing. I guess this game would seem like a lot more to a person who never played the first version(The first version was never melee, you could but it was useless, it was basically power struggles, fighting beam vs. beam, and sneaking up on people with weak "ki" blasts.), but for me, all this new fancy smancy stuff was nonsense on the gameplay! I suggest trying out http://www.natural-selection.org over this holiday release! Dracon, if you ever need a list of some extraordinarily fun mods, just e-mail me or something, I'll be more than happier to introduce you deeper into the modding community, and that goes to everyone else too.([email protected], AIM: SealabMurphy) (Oh, and I left out a nice gunman game with a bullet time system that works online, its extremely nice, and new! http://www.specialistsmod.net, and don't just think the bullet time system makes it neat, it has a large selection of weapons and powerups which makes this mod a must have to anybody's library.) <<>>Kusanagi<<>> |

Ah, thanks for your opinion. =)
I'd have to give ESF Beta a 8/10. The gameplay is pretty bad. I'd say DragonMod Z's is better if it wasn't for all of the bugs in the current version. The Alpha version of ESF, however, would have barely gotten a 5.5/10. It was horrible. Sadly, I haven't played the other two Half-Life mods that you had mentioned. A 56ker can only do so much =P |

Counter-Strike - A crappy net game which needs a great graphics upgrade and a new playerbase.
After about a week of playing NS will get boring, trust me. It all becomes the same with aliens, rush the human team and destroy their teleporters, then kill all the humans that had just respawned while keeping an alien camping at the command console, so when the commander pops out to save the day, *WHAM*, he's dead and the aliens win. Humans have no chance unless they got an aimbotter on their team, ehehe, not that I know anything about that.... Except that once aliens get fades, it's over unless you can unload about 30 shots into the alien with the light machine gun. From there on, and after, the aliens will win... unless you got a great commander who has a ton of heavy armor and heavy weapons at base. If you ever want to play me, I listed my Aol Instant Messenger screen name somewhere on this thread, I'll give you the IP to Covert Oral - Houston server. <<>>Kusanagi<<>> |
