I was supposed to see it to day but my band has a gig so i had to skip school. I would have gone with my english class. I saw the Exhibition in Toronto. All the props believe it or not are made of paper and rubber. The broken sword is huge in real life. If assembled it would be like 3.5 feet long!
Anyways it was awsome and im looking forward to the movie. P.s.:If you see a corpse in the dead swamps theres more of them. At the exhibit there were four of the same corpses in the water. Kinda lame. Also Saurman's lair was made of black duct tape :P |

I did the whole midnight showing thing too. But I got there I think around 5 hours early for it, it was a good thing too because both screening rooms were sold out and the lines were huge,, but my friends and I got perfect seats, and our projector worked, hehe. I am working with about 1.5 hours of sleep and I have a big review for my Final in Digital Systems today, so I have to manage to stay awake during all of the lecture (Note to self: raid soda machines).
I was horribly disappointed with the movie, it was like they glanced at the book, got a few names and wrote their own story... But on the other hand everything basically made up for that and the movie was awesome! All of the computer graphics, the armies, the little comedic things here and there, it was a really awesome movie and I recommend you see it, especially if you haven't read the books and won't spend the whole time saying to yourself "Hey that wasn't in the book." So, yeah, I need to go find some caffine! |

I was horribly disappointed with the movie, it was like they glanced at the book, got a few names and wrote their own story... I admit that there were a lot of changes, but most of them kept with the spirit of the book, and were really only there to make it more accessible to a movie audience. Overall, I think it was done pretty well... and, to me at least, it seems that they read the book pretty carefully and selected what to change. There were some goofy action-movie additions that bothered me a little, and the plot changes did bother me some, especially (highlight for spoiler) the elves at Helm's Deep, which I believe to be specifically mentioned not to be there. Besides that, it didn't seem to make any sense at all. But I still think it was rather well done. -AbyssDragon |
