My favorite thing to do is set up all 6 AI bots and sit atop one of the towers on Skyrail level and just blast the hell out of them with the AT-420 sentinel.

I don't understand how you people can say that DBZ Budokai is the best PS2 game of the year!
I'm some what of a closet DBZ fan myself...and I bought the game after reading the reviews to make sure that it wasn't complete crap. While it is a well made game, under the DBZ makeup it's a shallow fighting game with too few character moves and not a whole lot of strategy. Without the DBZ license most people wouldn't give this game a second glance. A fun game if you are a DBZ fan...but not even worthy of a nomination for best PS2 game of the year. |

I'm guessing I'm not the only fan who simply wanted a decent fighting game. DBZ Budokai shuts some fans up. Many would consider that worthy of a humanitarian award. ;) Granted, I wanted a Capcom or SNK game. However, while they could do better, it's probably no longer worth it. ...Of course, I don't even own a PS2. If I did, Armored Core, Guilty Gear, GTA, and DBZ Budokai would be the first things on my list. |
I believe that their is no game of the year. The year 2002 was a great year for video games with the exception for gamecube =P.

PS2: GTA: Vice City
XBox: Don't know Computer: Black & White Game Cube: Don't care BYOND: For 2002, Lode Wars |
Yeah, I don't understand it either. Dragonball Z: Budokai, at most, deserves a 6.5/10 rating. It's fun, but on a different level of fun than games such as Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

I think I have to go with Sariat on this one =] (only because I just started playing before this post and love it. MLAAS is second but it isn't hosted enough :/ . Then I must go with Lode Wars.)

Much agreed... While I greatly enjoy Budokai for the theme and coolness factor, it really isn't a decent fighting game...lol
But it's still definitely fun to play (for a fan, anyways) |
Ya, personally...I still prefer DBGT FB over Budokai, I don't know why, just got a thing fer it...wierd ehh?

PS2: Final fantasy X
Xbox: Splinter Cell GameCube: Metroid Computer: Black Hawk Down Byond: Project Zero's RPGMaker |
Also, theres no multi-player bots in AUF, whereas theres support for up to 6 fully customizable AI bots in Nightfire.
