I am so sick of all the DBZ games.
Not that i don't like DBZ but they are almost all the same.
I just don't check em out because of this. I really think that there sould be payed more atention to making other game then DBZ. And i am glad to see that there are some new pokemon games and also a harvest moon game.
And i hate so see new games that use some sort of DBZ code or use DBZ icons.
I am working on a new game now and i am making almost everything myself. I hope more ppl will do this.

Was that totally necasary? If I only had one BYONDime for everyone who posted a DBZ rant here trying to look mature, I'd be a rich little BYONDer(or is it BYONDee?) I'm just saying we all know this and it makes you look immature if you make a topic specificly for flaming, even if the feeling is mutual.

If you dont like DBZ games, make a game that will blow away all those games. It must be original though. Then again, rips will always be here, even if Dan & Tom does something about it.

What I find irritating is that when I continued stating again and again that DBZ is a ripoff of copyright, and for the love of God* you shouldn't make another one, people started ripping off many other animated series and/or games instead. =P
I despise all games on BYOND that are direct attempts at ports of another game, or are direct attempts to be as canonical as possible to a television series. (The exception is SpaceTug, but that isn't directly canonical -- much of the game is done as a parody -- and, besides, it's not based from a television series.) My personal belief is that if you can't think up of your own ideas, rather than just take another company's, then you shouldn't be making a game. It's the original games that get the highest ratings -- look at Half-Life or RollerCoaster Tycoon for examples. Are they based from an TV series? Are they ports of a particular game? Heck no! Again, I'm venting -- no personal offense intended to anyone. * Not that I do, but I'm sure other people do. | |
To make people stop making them, like Branks said, someone like a guru should make a DBZ game so good for them that they will not even try to make anything better because they'll know it will be years untill they could code that good (Count me out, I'm not gonna blow time on a game I wont even want to play considering it's DBZ.) Something I see right now though, is people are finally starting to make more original games, and I don't mean that pokemon and yog-yoh crap (I'm not even gonna spend time trying to spell them right) I mean them accually taking time to make their own idea, or for an RPG, take time to make a story to it to make them interesting. Like maybe 5 months ago there were probably twice as many DBZ games always being hosted and hardly anything else that hadn't been reviewed, or was turned down, was original.

Doesnt Zeta blow them all away? I mean geez, ive seen countless attempts to overpower Zeta in the competition but neither even came close. Zeta makes it out in the top because its original!

No... the reason there's so many DBZ games is because everyone who likes DBZ thinks it'll be really easy to make a great game based on it (and the reason so many of them suck is it's not really easy to make a great game).
All a great game will do is convince more people that it's easy, and the creator will be spammed with messages, emails, and pages saying "i need the code 4 the part where theres two streets adn a guy walking up the street and if u gie him $$$ he tells u wot to do and if you dont he just stands there and than u fight freeza pls thnx" | |

True accually. Thats why no one would probably do it anyways. But if it was done, they would start making it, see how no one likes his/her crappy DBZ game compaired to the other, they get discouraged, then they try to make it and see that it is too hard and no one joins their game, making them stop making it (hopefully). But it's just a thought though, it will probably never happen even if someone did it :P

They already know. They said they don't care as long as no one makes money off of it (which does happen, but they still don't care.) I think it was Nadrew that e-mailed them about it.

Except that some moron won't like one aspect of it, and then try to make a game "Lik dis 1, butt beter!" And then other morons will play that game, decide that it sucks, and make a game "Lik dat 1, butt beter!" And the cycle continues.
