I don't know this as a fact, but it seems so to me. Some people in my grade have started drugs since the age of 12, and they still act like 12 year olds... those poor, poor bastards.

Depends what type of drug(s) your refering to. I, for one, started smoking weed at 14. Only thing I noticed to change was my state of mind (my short-term memory is a little weeker now). But I use it to relieve stress, and it's also a good party material. Oh, RaeKwon, you misunderstood individual. I can think of a "drug" that is exactly like weed, without the side effects. It sets you into a trance like state, it relieves stress, and it is a VERY good party material. What is it? I call it the Playstation 2. You can't loose brain cells from it, you can't get busted for it, and people don't look down upon you because of it. Try it ;-) Go on - play some Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Some one picking on you at school? Play some Mortal Kombat. Pretend they are Sub-Zero and you are Scorpion, and you just want to beat the living crap out of them and send them into an eternal flame that burns but does not consume. But keep smoking weed if you really want to have the mental capacity of a 14 year old all of your life. <font size = 1>This has been an announcement from SAPS (Sony Against Pot Smokers). Just keep protecting your ways, but know, it is a gate way drug, even if it was legal, people would want a better high.

I believe he is laughing at your stupid remark, and Lexy's fast comeback thats so true and painfully apparent.

Toxins are used all the time in medicine. To this day, immunity shots contain small amounts of mercury. It is believed by some that immunity shots can cause autism, as it is by far most prevalent in developed countries that do routine immunity schedules for children. Go to Lagniappe for some good information on thimerosal. Basically, there's no real evidence that it's in any way connected to autism. That doesn't mean autism couldn't have some environmental triggers of course, but as mercury compounds go, the one in immunizations is--as far as anyone can tell--harmless. Lummox JR |

Is it true, when you start using drugs at a certain age, your stuck in that frame of mind? So you could be 19, but in your mind, your 14? Thats something my mom was tlaking about. My cousin started using drugs around 14. There's a huge range of variation in effects of mind-altering drugs. For example, the antidepressant Prozac can take weeks before it starts to make a noticeable difference in a person's mental state, and even then there's no guarantee that it will make a difference. At the other end of the spectrum, PCP can turn an ordinary person into a raving lunatic. That said, there is some risk inherent in using any kind of drug -- if they didn't do anything, they wouldn't be drugs. There's no reason on God's green earth why a 14-year-old should be taking drugs that haven't been prescribed by a doctor or selected by a parent. (Unless maybe there was an earthquake and a kid was trapped alone in a supermarket with a bad fever, or some similarly farfetched situation.) If you care about your cousin, you should consider speaking to your parents or your cousin's parents about it. Your cousin might feel betrayed, but if your cousin ends up as a shambling crack addict because of your inaction, you'll feel like a betrayer. |
I thought they were boisen berries? Have I been inable of telling a P from a B all these years? That would be bathetic.
