I decided to start this to express all the things that get under my skin, and allow you to do the same to release some stress.
My Pet Peeves:
1) When someone calls MY cell-phone and asks for me (who the hell do they expect to answer?)
2) When someone calls me at home and asks where I am (like they don't know)
Just 2 for now, more as more peeps reply.

Stupid people.

2.)"The Dutch." CT-3600B |
My biggest pet pieves are as follows.
1)Overweight women that wear "pop singer" clothes, that show alot of skin, in public.(Damn you Jenny Jones and Oprah!) 2)Door to door religious people(If jehovas witnesses wish to bother me with soliciting, they could at least deliver the mail and save us alot of money.) 3)Vegetarians (Everyone knows more animals are killed during harvesting than are killed for feeding purposes.. IGNORANCE) I dont really mind vegetarians as long as they arent openly criticizing me when I am eating something. 4)Racists, I love it how a low life redneck white male that lives in a RV could believe he is superior to an upperclass black man. I always laugh at racism in today's world. Lance ...Guardian of Dragons... |

In that case, exclude me from "everyone". =P That claim is very interesting. Do you have any evidence to support it? 4)Racists, I love it how a low life redneck white male that lives in a RV could believe he is superior to an upperclass black man. I believe everything in this list falls under that category. Could you be more specific?

That claim is very interesting. Do you have any evidence to support it? TIME Magazine, July 15 2002, Pg. 56 Steven Davis, professor of animal science at Oregon State University (at least one study has shown that simply mowing an alfalfa field caused a 50% reduction in the gray-tailed vole population): full article Least Harm Principle suggests that Humans should eat beef not vegan., first published in the Proceedings of Third Congress of the European Society for Agricultural and Food Ethics, 2001 Source here I agree with you about racists, but you seem to be implying that people who belong to "the upper class" are superior to those in "the lower class"... =/ Actually I wasn't implying that but stating an example, no one is better than the next guy, but I was stating a low-life believes he is SUPERIOR to someone that has achieved more throughout their lifetime. Steven Davis, professor of animal science at Oregon State University (at least one study has shown that simply mowing an alfalfa field caused a 50% reduction in the gray-tailed vole population): full article Interesting sidenote. People don't, as a rule, eat much alfalfa... guess who does? That's right... livestock. All you're proving is that eating steak kills 50% of the gray-tailed voles plus one cow. I'm not a big fan of vegetarians, either, but one of their more compelling arguments has to do with land use. It takes a lot of raw material to bring a calf up to a big, fat slaughterable animal. The land used to feed that single calf could feed far more people than that one calf ever will. If we're to assume that harvesting is evil, we have to allow that it's a necessary evil because it's part of our food chain whether you go meet or veg. Still, if we're to assume that it's a necessary evil, then doesn't the Least Harm Principle demand that we use the smaller landmass to feed ourselves, thus harvesting less, thus harming less? |

If I didn't make it clear before I am now.
The rephrased pet pieve. My pet pieve is vegeterians that think they are morally "cleaner" than omnivores like myself for not eating meat, and point it out when I am eating meat in a public place such as a restaurant. I am sorry I made a vague statement, and looking back on my first post I was extremely vague. (But I knew what I meant :-) ) Lance ...Guardian of Dragons... |

This is why I suggest research in headless clone ranches, I know I would take pictures while passing by one of those.

Well, I'm not altogether too fond of the phrase "pet peeve." Other than that, things that bother me:
1) People who manage to use the phrase "Everyone knows..." in connection with an extremely obscure and dubious fact, especially if this done in an attempt to castigate others for their ignorance. (If "everyone knows", then who exactly is left to be called ignorant?) [Countless people, but 1 in recent memory.] 2) People so easily confused as to pager ban someone else and think that the bannee has banned them. [No less than 3 people, in my experience.] 3) People who think a roleplaying game could be enhanced by making it possible to gain power by leaving a paperweight on your keyboard. [Countless people.] 4) People who publically and groundlessly denounce others, saying in so many words that he or she is a con artist, then backpedal later and say "I never came out and said it," despite the presence of a chat log that argues otherwise. [Exactly 1 person.] As annoying as any one of these behaviors is, though, my biggest "pet peeve" has got to be anyone who manages to embody all four of them. Yes, I know... it hardly seems possible, does it? |

TIME Magazine, July 15 2002, Pg. 56 Oh, like *that's* really an up-to-date informative publication... sheesh! You realize that a large majority of the share-holders of Time, and it's related companies, are Scientologists? ...simply mowing an alfalfa field caused a 50% reduction Sorry, but I don't really have a hankering for grilled vole - so I doubt this statistic really means much to anyone. Besides voles are considered destructive in some locations, so a reduction in that part of the global food-chain may be no big loss... if so, the animals that feed on them become my dinner earlier - since they would begin to encroach on civilzation faster. Fresh fox meat - yum! |
