I have posted thi,but:
Before September 11 terrorism was not thought of as much of.People never said that drug money funds terrorism. It is sad to see exploytation of such a tragic and emotional day.I need your opinion. Some juice that lexy would come up with to make me feel better please?
Dubya does his best to exploit any tragedy for personal gain. In this case, the personal gain is to get re-elected. He's trying to make himself look "patriotic" by starting a war against an ambiguous enemy. Same thing with the space shuttle crash and how he's not funding the space program even more.

Thanks, I wasnt sure on it.
The drug-money-to-terrorism connection, when used to defend the "War on Drugs", is a tautology. It boils down to "drugs are bad because they're profitable for the bad guys", while it handily neglects to mention that it is the legal status of drugs that makes them profitable in the first place; any outlawed product sold on a "black market" will cost more than it would if it were legal and available through the normal market, because the the illegality of the product prevents the manufacturers from taking advantage of economies of scale (i.e., mass production), and increases the sellers' risk.

The funny thing is that America has an excellent -- in fact, almost perfect -- analogy to the War on Drugs in our own Prohibition era, which spawned countless gangsters and made criminals of innumerable otherwise-respectable citizens, yet there are many who adamantly refuse to see a parallel.

Do you think there would be any effect on the price of marijuana in the U.S. black markets if it is legalized in Canada? This is a debate that has been brewing here in Canada for pressure not to legalize it, because it would, reportedly, be cheaper to get it in the United States. Now I don't know about that. What do other people think about this?

I doubt that it would lower prices much, simply because of the risk involved. In general, I don't think professional drug dealers are the sort to "pass the savings on to you!"

I have to wonder, though: why would the effective price of drugs in the U.S. be a component of the arguments in Canada? I mean, when the U.S. passes laws, you don't hear much hand-wringing about how they'll affect Canada. (And rightly so!)
