My only issues with sony is that I bought the internet adapter late January, no warning it just says that you get Twisted Metal Black:Online with it.

Open it up and it says that it expires December 31, 2002

I dont think so. Still got the receipt, ill head to the store I got it and demand twisted metal black:online, let Them sort it out.

if that doesnt work ill return the internet adapter, Im thinking that they dont want to refund the product, thatll be the only other choice for Electronic Boutique.

1. Give In
or
2. Lose out

And if I ever have issues with my Playstation 2, I have a 2 Year Warranty. Parts and Services.
One thing that helps keep the dust out is covering the console with a thick sheat, or towel. Hope yours doesn't have the problems me and so many others have had.

I keep mine DUSTED
and i turn it off when im done (so it doesnt conduct dust)
AND i have compressed air.

Wow, taking care of a video game system, what a concept.
In response to OneFishDown
its not just a video game system, its an electronic entertainment system just as much as a television or radio.
I used to work at EB in the early 90's. I really doubt that they can control whether or not the expired service can be turned back on or not - odds are they will just refund your money...

i dont take care of my televison or radio... i just let them sit there and they've worked for years unlike my damned ps2(which ive cleaned 1,000,000 times)

Wow, you've cleaned your PS2 1,000,000 times, yet you still have time to post on the forums.

It sounds like most problems that people have are dust-related. You could try moving your PS2 away from a dusty area, that might make sense. It probably says somewhere in a manual that comes with the PS2 how to take care of it. If you are deprived of a manual, common sense should work just fine.
In response to OneFishDown
yes, its stated in the manual quite specifically that the PS2 is NOT to be placed on a rug of any kind, or directly on a floor, unleveled flooring, near extreme temperatures, or in damp places.
A tip:Stand it standing vertical. To be safe I would get the stand(dont know about it).I heard they operate better vertically. so I keep mine that way.Or another is to stand it on a surface that has holes in it(like a mil carton thingy).Helps it keep from overheating.

I'v had my PS2 on my gameroom rug for 2 years, never cleaned it once, and it's only moved when I'v gone to a friend's house, but it goes straight back to the carpet when I get home. I havn't had any problems at all, except the CD-drive makes a weird noise when I open it, but it didn't do that until a funny incident happened with my siamese cat, a football, a chair, and a very tall shelf.

Another thing to keep in mind is copyright law...

If the product in question contains any software (which I assume the adapter has some sort of "driver" or such disc that you must "install" to a memory card, as the DVD playing software does) and you've opened that software, then copyright laws prohibit a store from allowing you to return the product... This is to curb people who buy a piece of software (the same for music CDs, DVDs, and VHS tapes as well), copy it, and then return it...

The only thing they can do is give you a same-item exchange... You'll be in the same boat you are now...lol

And it shouldn't do you much good to whine to them... For one, it's not their fault, and shouldn't be their problem... And two, it's not a store policy they'd be following in not giving you a refund, it's a federal law... Something that's out of their hands...and you really shouldn't be asking them to do...

Basically, I'm telling you that you're being unreasonable in expecting them to fix your problem, which should be taken to Sony (or whomever is in charge of your expired offer) in writing or perhaps by phone... The store or its workers should not be puniched for something that isn't their fault...

After working in retail for over 5 years, I've seen my share of people with your attitude about things like this... And believe me, the customer is not always right...even if we have to pretend that they are... And being a jerk to someone who doesn't deserve it is completely wrong in my eyes... It's not the store's fault, and you shouldn't create one for them...
In response to SuperSaiyanGokuX
well actually, its federal law for them to not RESELL it.. its effectively trashed.. thats where you were jipped.

You see, they still have to refund for false advertisement, they dont get off that easily in these cases.

I was told id get a full version game with the purchase, never did. they have to suck it up.
In response to Dareb
No, the law is meant to stop bootleggers from making and selling copies of software that they then return to the store... Software that they effectively didn't pay for because of the refund... So, the refund is illegal to hinder their plans by at least making them pay for their copy... I say "hinder" because of course this can't stop bootlegging, but it at least penalizes them by not letting them get their money back, and that's the point of the law...

The store can only be blamed for false advertisement if it was their promotion... Since this sounds like it's a Sony deal, then the store is in no way legally (or morally) responsible to take the blame and do anything for you... Sony is the one who has to "suck it up"... And you'd be doing the wrong thing in taking the issue to the store instead of those responsible...
In response to SuperSaiyanGokuX
Well, Sony can't afford bad publicity so i'd imagine they will wake up real quick.
