I think he meant that those were just the last two to be posted... But, it's a really good idea to have them all together so everyone can see them all next to each other for comparison...

What I really like about this is how many different styles and methods were used... They're all cool looking in different ways...

bad ass. Very nice work shading him, most people screw that up and thats why the sprites look bad here on byond. Considering its fairly large compared to what most people are working with, thats extremely good. Have you considered doing any freelance icon creation? You might make some $$$ on byond.

Thanks!

I've always thought the opposite about shading... The smaller the picture, the harder it is to shade because you have to be more "creative" with your choices for color...

With a larger space, all you have to do is pick a few shades of whatever color you're using, and slap them on from darkest to lightest...

I suppose the same method holds true for smaller works, but when you've got fewer pixels to work in, I think it's a bit tougher to fit the proper shading in...

And as for doing paid work, I haven't really considered it, actually... I suppose I could make some decent vending machine money, but I'd rather spend the time working on my own projects before doing work for others...lol

However, ther doesn't necessarily mean that I'd turn down a request for something... It just means I don't plan on actively seeking work...
After analyzing the many base edits I have recieved, I have now ready to judge. The winners are as follows:

First place (50 BYONDimes): SuperSaiyanGokuX
Amazing job SSGX! Extremely nice shading and a great touch of originality.
Second place (25 BYONDimes): FuZzY Dice
The shading and limbs are amazing! Also, an Animéish style is always awesome.

Great job out to everyone else who entered the contest! I can see there is a lot of talent in the BYOND community. =)

And now, for my edit:

Tell me what you think of it.

*Bows*

I'm glad my little creation came out as well as it did... My original idea was to go with something that looked closer to a mech (Gundam-ish)...but as I looked at the base, and thought about the guidelines of sticking within the lines (aside from accessories and such), it just seemed to be a bit better to go with something more "organic"... But, to keep with my robitic intentions, I came up with that guy...

And it only took an hour or two of work...lol Well, not constant work... But about an hour or two including various interruptions...lol

I've always loved pixel-art, though, and that entire thing was done pixel by pixel... With a lot of revising along the way to get that shading just right (and I myself am still not entirely happy with it, to be honest...lol)

The gun (I hope everyone can tell that that's what it is...lol) was sort of an afterthought... It just looked too plain to me, so I stuck on a weapon...

But anyways, I'm glad everyone seems to like it as much as they do... And thanks, Dracon!

I really liked the other entries, too... A lot of talent was shown... And like I mentioned below in another reply, I think it's really neat to see all of these different styles coming from the same template...

And as for your own, Dracon, I like it! Really good shading, with a sort of anime-ish look... I see some DBZ influences in there (the hairline, especially) and I've definitely got no problem with that (I came *this* close to making a DBZ character, but decided against it...lol) I like the street-kickboxer look that he has...
I must say I'm astonished with what this community has to offer, talent wise. Those graphics we’re great, now, you see, if I was to make one, you’d think I got hit by a car or something. SSGX’s has somewhat of a 3d complexion to it, which astonished me upon looking at it. Very good job, SSGX!

FuZZy DiCe’s was a good one also, a nice variety of colours, and a great job of shading. Nicely done!

Those are just my thoughts on the two I thought which we’re best.

Hey thanks SSGX. =)

But I might as well show off my other "Dracon" work here. I created my base edit off of my other works. The character I posted was "Dracon" (As it comes to no suprise), and I've been making graphics of him for a while now. His looks have changed slightly over the years, but he's kept his "anarchist, rebelious goth" look to him.

Ah, the classic. This was the first ever offical Dracon.

The first detailed, up-close picture of Dracon.

An alternate look to Dracon.

Of course, I do not just do pictures of Dracon. Here is a face picture of the lead singer of KoRn, Jonathan Davis:

So, yep, that's about it. Oh, just incase anyone wants to shading like I had on my base, here's a little treat for you:
