Its decent, it would probibly be worth it, it runs fine on pc to me. I dont know how diffrent it would be though, when you get it have fun.

I've pretty thoroughly described my personal opinion of EQ in past posts, so here's the condensed version: I enjoyed it until I got to a point where I realized that I couldn't explore any new areas without either spending countless hours performing repetitive tasks or banding together with other people I wasn't terribly interested in getting to know. I will say, though, that I did meet a few friendly people of greater experience who were kind and helpful, and my character wasn't even a scantily-clad Elf female.

Im pretty mad right now.EverQuest online looks so awesome but I just called to fix my settings and it still wont work.I bet its just because of my dsl.
|
Its decent but it would be better if there was more things for people to do alone.
But if you earn up quite a bit, believe me, you will likely get addicted to playing it like I do when I have it. |

This is not about Everquest but it's about PS2 Online.
Does anyone have any good suggestions about games for PSO? I've had my Network Adapter for about a month now and all I have is the demo disc and a basketball game. I'm not really interested in Everquest but does anyone have any other suggestions for PS2 Online Games. PS- I'm looking forward to FF11, but if it requires the HDD then i'm gonna wait for it to come out on the PC instead. |

EQOA is the exact same thing as EQ but on a console.

Oh, I always associate PSO with Phantasy Star Online.

Me too, I hear that's coming out for Xbox, so I might have to pick up a copy that other people actually play also ;) I mean my dreamcast version has kind of died.

So basically, it's the same, but faster levelling, because they realized after the first EverQuest game that they wouldn't be charging by the hour, and no longer had any need to keep people sitting in one spot for hours on end waiting for blue and red bars to slowly move to the right. Oh, and they also put in a few more trade skill (aka total waste of time) combinations, and named enemies different things and colored them different. And story line? The game never had a story line. It was essentially "Big war, things die, gods fight, yadda yadda yadda, poor excuse to add a new 'zone' to attempt to squeeze more money out of bored players."

EQOA is the exact same thing as EQ but on a console. Not even by a longshot. The game mechanics are totally, utterly reworked. The combat engine works entirely different. Zones dont work the same way. Only about 10-15% of the old spells that exist in EQ are in EQOA(The spells and skills are really badly named in EQOA. Each has a unique name in EQPC, none of this "Backstab 1","Backstab 2","Backstab 3" crud). EQPC has ring events, raid-group features that can allow a raid of up to 72 people, large-scale epic quests(10th Ring War). In EQPC, clerics have Complete Heal(Possibly the most important spell in the entire game. The games encounters have been built around the power this spell provides since the very first expansion). This is carefully ommited in EQOA, which is arguably a wise choice. Almost none of the classes in EQPC work the same as in EQOA, for better or worse(Enchanters in EQOA no longer mesmerize or stun or haste or slow, they charm and boost power and health regeneration. Monks no longer pull and split camps, they do massive bursts of damage. Necromancers are no longer the soloing masters and powerlevellers of the century, they are pure damage dealing monsters with their dots. etc) The entire world in EQOA is vastly different than the one in EQPC(The EQPC one is also fenominally larger, by several magnitudes) Im not saying EQOA is better or worse than EQPC, beause I haven't tried it. I plan to, though, when its released in Denmark. I just wanted to say, they are pretty much completely different games. One is geared more towards action gamers(EQOA), while the other is geared toward, uh, everyone else. |
