Some woman comes into a gas station I was in the other day, and asks the manager if she can get a refund on her car wash. She paid for it with a credit card at the pump when she got gas, but she thought the pump said the car wash was free. If she has to pay for it, she doesn't wan't it. The manager explained that what the pump said was that the car wash was 'touch free', not that it was free. Her response was, 'Oh, I'm from Michigan, I thought it was free.'
What the heck does her being from Michigan have to do with anything? Are people in Michigan only taught to read words up to four letters in length or something?

Well, since working at McDonald's I've come to see how people act. Stereotypes exist for a reason.
Stereotypes at McDonald's: White People: Generally nice, but I can see where the term "White Trash" is derived from. Black People: Cheap. Mexican People: Stupid. ("I want a number 8 with the sandwhich only." And when you give it to them, they say "Where's my fries and drink?" Chinese people: Hard to understand, semi-rude. Indian People: Very Friendly. This is not meant to offend anybody, but just my observations from doing my $5.35 an hour job at McDizzle. |

She was black, wasn't she? No actually, not that that matters in the least. She was a middle aged white woman. |

There are many gas stations in the Midwest that do offer free car washes with a fill-up. (Typically you get the cheap "no-frills" wash, and you have to pay extra if you want hot wax and air drying and all that.) She probably just glanced at the sign, saw the words "free" and "car wash", and assumed it was the same kind of deal. |
