I went on the official website to see how much Photoshop 7 would be, and the CD-ROM is $609.00. Does anyone know a website that sells it cheaper?

No, just get Paint Shop Pro instead. It has about the same functionality, but its only around $100. Unless you're stinking rich or you've got a business that'll pay the expenses, Photoshop isn't worth it in my book.

Yes foomer is always right about artistic stuff. Even though I stink at artist stuff but, Paint Shop Pro is the way to go.
O.o wait does that ryme :)

oh, yes, let's promote stealing or a public forum shall we? Sure way to risk a conviction, eh?

You can also take a crack at the Windows version of Gimp - which approaches the power of Photoshop in many aspects, and is free.

But has what is most probably the worst interface in the world. I reckon the programmers sat down and brainstormed ideas to make it really hard to use. =P

Having multiple windows wouldn't be so bad if:

1. Only the main window showed up on the taskbar

2. Switching to one window brought the others to the front as well

It's really annoying trying to have another program open while running the Gimp, which is the main reason why I never use it. Well, that and the fact that I have both Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop (old versions, admittedly, but they work fine for my purposes).

all good points, but since I have 3 monitors attached to my comp, putting Gimp in its own screen and using it that way, is no problem... =)

Not to promote "stealing", but if you swipe a certain .ini file from Photoship, you can use it to enable all the effect libraries (whatever you call them) that come with Photoshop to work with Paint Shop Pro as well. There are some websites out there with instructions on how to do it, but I don't know any right off hand.
