In today's day and age, many things must be taken to consideration as to whether we are truly any more safe today than we were before. Despite efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq, terrorism still exists in many forms, and will not be vanquished easily. There are many persons out there who now look upon this country less favourably than they did in previous times, but as well as that, there are rogue groups out there still willing to wreak havoc on this great country. It is this exact reason that we must invade the South American country of Suriname. The rebellious government in charge here may be in charge of what might actually be one of the smallest country on this side of the pond, but despite this, they have maintained a charade for too long. Within the forests of Central Suriname, there lies easy opportunity for terrorist bodies to conduct their operations under cover, and hidden from public view. The government of Suriname allows these rogue groups to operate unchecked, and is likely to be funneling them money from nasty sources such as Iranian oil money. It is no large secret that there are tragic human rights breaches in Suriname already. While the government lives easy on the coffers of former Netherlands' investors, the common people are forced to live in poverty; most citizens toil on the fields all day, where they are likely being forced to grow opium for the illegal market. While the government funnels the funds from opium to terrorist groups, they're heavily reliant on foreign export and dealings. It may shock us to know that, for a long time, America had unknowingly dealt with this horrible country, providing resources that could be deferred to terrorist groups. It is also mighty suspicious that this freedom hating country rests only a few doors down from Venusuela, where leftist Hugo Chaves is currently whipping up anti-american sentiment. If we are to win the long war on terror, Suriname must be stopped now. |
