I just had to ban a guy that logs in with an offensive name and either logs in and out a million times till banned or posts all of his previos bans. He logs in with any name that is in caps and is offensive. For me it was "AMERICANS SHOULD DIE". He spamed me with other names like, "FF IS STUPID" and "I_HATE_KOREANS". Watch out for this guy. If he does anything wrong, please ban him at once, this is a warning. I did not catch his key, sorry.

It's your own fault for allowing players to choose their names.

Why wouldn't I. I mean seriously, they have the right, just not for them to pick inapproptate names. It says it right in the hub, spam will get u banned and inapproprate names will get u banned too. Anyway, i couldnt have stoped the spam so just shut up.

Most people are nice and mature enough to know that they should keep names nice. If 99 people make good, RP names then why shouuld 1 person ruin it all?

I do, im just stating to everyone that makes or hosts a game that they should prolly ban this guy on sight.


Just a notice to all makers/players:
If someone logs in to ur game that has a name like I posted before, you should probably wait for like 5 minutes(unless you have rules about those kinds of names) and if you get spam or he keeps logging in and out, instantly ban him, take no percautions.

See, I caught him in the first place cause he kept a big log of all the [stuff] he did, but it was just barely not long enouph. It took about the whole screen but then I could see his name. Then he was like, "My bad" so I banned him for excessive spam. Just watch out!

As I say again, I'm only stating to watch out for him. If he is to wait a long time and spam u suddenly then u'll never get who did it. Just please, watch out.

Ps: And yes, I did ban him but thats besides the point, he might have other keys on other computers etc. People who really want to piss you off find a way to no matter what.

Yea, it did exactly nothing. I mean, they deserve to be able to pick their name, what if they have an old key, but all of thier saves are on that key and they want to use a different name?

Not entirely--I do see his point. While it may be nice for players to be able to choose names for their characters, you should always have some method of tracking a name back to a key, or at least have an admin system that can handle such a problem on the back end.

It's not so much that people choosing their names is the problem, but that the system was obviously implemented without giving any thought to security.

Also your fault for not putting an auto spam blocker and a limit on the size of messages. And frankly, advice to ban people who are spamming is nothing mroe than common sense.

This isn’t unusual for the BYOND community, DragonBall Zeta has this happen at least 10 times daily. You’re going to have to get used to it. There really is nothing Dantom can do, that’s why you make a ban code in your game. Furthermore, in the future, don’t make posts on subjects like this. If everyone that has this happen were to, the forum would be full of absurd flames.

I do, but I didnt get it I forgot and I banned him the second he spammed because I was about 90% sure he was going to.
