Notice how in some posts, say you need a coder, or a storyline creator, why do they need to see your icons? What do my icons have to do with you helping me design a plot? Cra Zee Coder posted in classified ads looking for a storyline creator, and someone replied saying they needed to see his/my icons. I just don't understand. Anyone wanna explain to me why someone would need to see icons?

They say that so that if they add any mapping or if u need em to start u off, to get it working to test, they need icons. Its better to use ur icons to test with so that when they give the code back u dont need to configure it again later. People ask me to help em all the time and u also need the WHOLE code just incase theres one part in it thats on another DM or all of ur vars are in 1 DM and u gave them the one without em. Its just the way coders work. They dont actually steal your code.

ok. but what about Story Line Creators? Im not gunna send a storyline creator my code/icons, because they don't need it.

Story-line makers need it too. They need it to map things that work in the story line and make new people for it to ask things and give u stuff. Also they need to test the story line to see if it all works correctly.

Metroid, this is exactly how the whole Zeta rip thing started. Dracon trusted the entire code to Migzor, who said he would map for him, and then Migzor stole it and sold it to people, which has now lead to DanTom to closing down the BYONDime system. Never trust someone else with your entire code.

Truth in told, they do not need the icons.I can very well come up with a story-line for a game if you gave me its type, setting, and anything else along those lines.

Creating a story line has absolutely nothing to do with testing things. You write a story. That's your story line. There is no reason they should need any part of your game in any way.

Yeah, you could come up with a storyline, but would it be the best storyline to go with that setting and icons? It's like a movie. Movies have scripts before they're cast, but the finished product is VASTLY different depending upon the locations and actors. Small nuances and whole things are rewritten to fit the story to the other elements.

Tonally and stylistically, the game will fit together better if the writers know what they're working with.

Well, It dont matter to me much, I was just trying to help you out. I'm the only person who ever works on my game, I'm the only coder.(majorly) I have never given my code off cause I really dont want help.

EXACTLY my point garthor. Im not asking for a map maker or a coder, im asking for a storyline creator.
