Greetings,
I have a question. Are there any good tutorials out there (or even books prehaps) that can teach one how to build a computer from scratch? I'm planning to start buying parts so I can make a nice computer out of the $1500 I plan to invest. Also, are there any computer hardware online stores that are pretty decent? Thanks.

Im sure there is. But it is damn easy to. And if you need to you just look inside the one your using right now. It takes me 45 mins tops when I'm having problems with it.

if you get a vendors permit you can even make and sell your own computers from home. they wont have a warranty, but you can still give a personal garantee.. of course its buyer beware.
But it would be your own reputation on the line, aswell as your personal appearance if you piss off the wrong person. you can make a fine computer for 800. a pretty good computer for 1400, and a damn good computer for 2000. Just make sure you have alot of spare time. |
My cousin does that. He buys cheap parts and sells them for 3, 4, and even 5 times as much as they're worth :P

Newegg.com
I built my computer completely through them. Excellent service, I had no complaints. Pretty good prices and quality equipment. As for a tutorial, you don't really need one. Most components now come fairly fool-proof, complete with installation instructions. However, PCworld.com had a good one. I don't know the link though, so you'll have to search for it :) |
