I had this problem as well recently...
Do a search for "incompatible RPC stub", and you'll find a TON of results from other people who have this problem... Most of these results will be threads posted on Windows troubleshooting sites... Included in these threads will be a bunch of different potential fixes for the problem, only one of which will work for you, depending on exactly what went wrong to cause this error (it appears that the error can be caused by a handful of things, and each fix only works for whatever situation caused the problem for you)... The one that worked for me was downloading Microsoft's fix "mcrepair.exe" from the support.microsoft.com website... It installs older versions of 4 drivers that are involved with the bug... As it turns out, the newer versions (which apparently must be included with some new software, and overwrite the old versions when you install certain programs) aren't compatible with existing programs (Internet Explorer, most prominently), and you have to reinstall the older versions to make everything work again... |
